Here's a recent pic of my car with AW laid down during a DG rinseless wash. I couldn't be happier with the combo of DG rinseless wash, DG rinseless made up as a QD, AW and ofcoarse the DGNCC!

How's everyone elses DGNCC holding up this summer?

I put two coats on late April and have washed it weekly with DG 901, nothing more. Still sheets/beads like the day I put it on. Other than contamination that you can feel with the baggie test it just keeps performing. Kind of boring actually...... If you're looking for protection with little maintenance then you should consider this. I'm going to put Polishangel's Viking Shield on my other car to compare the two, and to have something to do.

Since applying my coats I've maintained about once a month with the Speedy prep towel (fine grade) to remove any surface contaminents. I've also applied about 4 coats of AW and one coat of another version of my "FrankenDetailer" but that one is made up of left over CG's Blitz/D156/AW. I too wash with DG rinseless and lately I've been using ECO TOUCH waterless as well. I couldn't be happier with DGNCC and its perfect for someone who wants low maintence when it comes to car care. That said, that's not me but I wanted to apply the best out there and the real test is going to come over the winter when its only warm enough in the underground garage to do waterless/rinseless washes but I expect the DGNCC to hold up just fine :dblthumb2:

I took this video after washing my car today. Three months after application, washed weekly with DG 901, no toppers applied, daily driver, garaged at night:

It's been doing well in my 4-way test. Not quite as good as OC 2.0 and CQUK, but it looks great and is super easy to apply! The only problem I had was I found I had to use CarPro eraser and/or IPA after SQ for best performance. That and the fast it doesn't repel dust as well as the other, but it is still miles ahead of a conventional wax or sealant.

I've got this and really like the idea. I've put it on a white F-150 and my bmw 328xi and it seems to work really well.

I have a couple of concerns and maybe those here can help me with them.

1. I'm spraying about 4 sprays on the yellow pad that is included but it seems after spreading it just maybe 6-8 inches the visible 'wetness' if you will disappears and it looks like I'm just pulling the applicator across the paint.

2. Uneveness due to #1, maybe I'm overthinking this but it seems like I'm applying the right amount to the pad according to Jerry at Duragloss but with what is seen above how can it be even or even close?

3. So far I've done 2 coats on my F-150 and 1 on my BMW. I have about 1/4-1/3 of the bottle left. Way too much used? About right?

Hoping for some good answers, thanks.

Well Hellspawn even though its nice that DG provides an applicator pad IMO a square mf or terry cloth applicator works best for these WOWA products. Keep in mind that it takes 1 spray to "prime" the pad and then you spray the product onto the panel your working. Its also best that when you spray that you mist and quickly drag your hand to cover more area, a little goes a long way and this really helps the process.

As far as how much you've used, well, even though one vehicle is pretty big you probably used too much but that's ok, there's a learning curve for everything you try/use out there. High spots can just be knocked down with a spritz of QD onto a mf towel and simply wiping it out.

Back to the foam, think of it like this, foam has lots of cells and it absorbs too much into those cells IMO, thus making you use more product, this is just my opinion using foam applicators with WOWA products, anyone else agree/disagree?

Foam applicators suck for coatings. Having applied 5 different types of coatings I can say a block wrapped with MF suede cloth (CQuartz method) works the best and is inexpensive.

RobZ:

"The only problem I had was I found I had to use CarPro eraser and/or IPA after SQ for best performance."

Why was that? Website states SQ last then Enviroshield.

Also, I was told by DG TS to use the mf side of the yellow pad and not the foam part. 1 squirt to prime then 1 squirt (maybe 2) going forward.

I do not like conflicting instructions/results especially with SQ Clean.

Hellspawn - I had some of the same doubts as you. As you can tell by my post count I'm pretty new at all this, 1 post per 20 hours of reading/lurking. I've always taken decent care of my cars but decided to take it to the next level and trying to learn as much as I can. When I was applying it was probably in the high 70's, not much humidity, and it was flashing so quick it didn't seem like I was putting enough on at all and coverage seemed minimal before the pad would start dragging. I used the foam side of yellow pad provided with the kit. I put another coat on the next weekend to be sure I had 100% coverage. I didn't have any trouble with high spots as I probably overcompensated due to concerns about it. At the end of the day it all seemed to work out, probably have 1/2 a bottle left after doing a medium size SUV (Mercedes GLK350) so I'm not sure what is "Normal". I used clay but no polishing as the car is new, used SQ which was easy to use and worked well in my case, and then applied the shield.

Thanks to those who responded. I was going to ask about a preferred applicator but see some answers that I can figure out from there.

So instead of doing multiple sprays onto the pad I should spray onto the panel maybe 12-16" away? I was going by dg ts who said to put it on the mf side of the applicator, maybe 2 sprays per panel.

I like the spraying on the panel idea myself and will try that.

I am going to put a 2nd layer on my 328 this weekend if I can find the time. I'll probably order another kit so I don't run out in the middle of a car!

***UPDATE***

Well I've got a show this weekend and although the coating is holding up just fine I decided to apply another coat. Sometimes I get a "bug up my butt" and act on it, in this case I thought about applying another coat and did it. I also have a show this weekend and I see this coat lasting me through the rest of the summer and ofcoarse will get me through my trip down to The Tail of the Dragon in Oct where I'll put 1500 miles on the car in 4 days.

As far as going into the winter goes, this coat will do just that, I have no reason to think a coat applied in early August will not get me through winter based on its performance so far!

Let me just say this, after waiting about 2+ monthes since my last coat of DGNCC and maintaining w/ AW and a version of AW/D156 and CG's Blitz inbetween, this latest coat has really made the paint POP more than ever! I can't believe how much deeper and wetter the paint looks!!

For some people you buy this so you don't have to touch the car for years (although that's a long arse time to NOT touch your car!) but I know this, I'm not one of those people! I've been fighting with not touching the car during the entire spring and this whole summer, well I can tell you this, that is over! Is it going to be over kill to apply the product every 6 weeks or so, maybe but I know this, the way my car looked after pulling it out of the garage this morning and heading to work has blown me away! So you've got a product here than you can apply and just maintain and it WILL protect your paint and make clean-up a snap but you've also got a product here that given about 15-20 minutes, can make the paint look ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Then you look at the price of the kit, not a lot of money but A LOT of results!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN DURAGLOSS!

I've seen some folks on other forums that have found the beading/sheeting and general performance to drop quickly? What are your observations?

Well the thing with me is this, after I applied the first coat it was cool out, so who knows how good it took. The 2nd coat the temps were warmer and I applied a 3rd coat when it was 80, so much better then. Since then I've done maintence with DG rinseless, applied 4 coats of AW and 1 coat of a version of "FrankenDetailer" which I spoke about earlier. My car is never dirty and I should also add that the past couple weeks I've been trying out ECO TOUCH waterless wash. Now does that hurt, I wouldn't think so but who knows. I have always noticed beading but its also on a clean car, not a dirty car and as we all know beading is different on a clean car than a car that's really dirty, all factors to be considered. All this said, I know this, when I applied the 4th coat after going over 2 monthes the paint looked like another color, more POP, so there's something to it wearing away a bit just based on this. Hopefully Richy or Dad07 come in to clear this up for us.
