New Formula Blackfire SRC Compound???

That's exactly what I was going to say before Nick pointed it out, SRC being DAT.

2 points for me.

This is what I understand about SMAT and DAT..

SMAT - Super Micro Abrasive Technology

DAT - Diminishing Abrasive Technology

One stays micro and the other breaks down and diminishes
as you work on it.

SMAT is a newer technology and is supposed to leave a nicer finish but then again as we all know its in the technique that these polishing oils thrive and make our cars look fantastic.

Nick gave the details of what the product is and the best way is to talk to AG and/or try it out.

:buffing:

SMAT - Super Micro Abrasive Technology

DAT - Diminishing Abrasive Technology
•Meguiar's terminology for their abrasives.
•Going outside of this product line will often evoke a lot of different and strange..."Uhs"...from many of the abrasives-manufactures/abrasive-products-formulators. Similar to:

So Wolfgang Uber compound uses both SMAT and DAT abrasives?

Shall we call this new tech SMDAT? As in, "Give me SMDAT Uber Compound, please!"

Sorry to burst your bubble Mark, as it seems you put a lot of time and effort into your theory, but they're not the same product.

1200 grit scratch removal is the benchmark for compounds these days, German technology is used in everything from car care to dish ware, and BLACKFIRE SRC Compound using DAT while Uber uses DAT and SMAT.

Maybe you want to call and verify next time you have questions about two different products before posting rumors and speculation on the Internet?

Coming from someone that's actively involved in new product research and development, I can tell you my job would be a heck of a lot easier if all the products were the same!

Nick I don't know you but this is a condescending disrespectful answer. Autogeek should be setting positive tone for the forum. I expect more. If you talked down to me like that I would take my business elsewhere. What he said was not wild speculation, it was a vible thought, just not correct in this case. He did not say he knew anything for sure. He was looking for opinons on the matter to learn. Isnt that why we all are here? Why do you feel the need to put him in his place? Not smart business. The truth would have come out anyways.

I had the same question Mark had.

I pulled over to the side of the road so I could reply to you. Thanks Brandon, I really appreciate it. This thread I started is very legitimate, VERY, yet I get bashed for it...LOL. No biggie.

The thing is...you're never going to get the answer you are looking for, or an answer you are satisfied with. Like I said before with the store brand peas vs. the name brand...you'll never really know the lineage of the store brand, so if you like it, eat it, if you don't...Green Giant.

OP asked a question and made an assumption. Maybe it was wrong, but I believe the question/assumption has been addressed (and some with a little harshness that probably wasn't necessary). Let's move on everyone and get back to discussing our passion of detailing! :dblthumb2:

I'm pleased to see that there are others that
will readily reject ad hominem attacks.

Nick, I'm sure you didn't mean to convey this as it looks. Sometimes trying to type with emotion is hard without facial expression or body language. I have dealt with you a few times on the phone and you are always super professional. Although this doesn't look so... I'm sure it's not how you meant it. Mark did pose a legitimate question that some of us were thinking but perhaps were afraid to post.

Anyway... Let's make shiny vehicles not war guys!!
