Bootcamp . . what have i done?

AZ is Arizona. I am at 7,000 ft above sea level and we get some snow here. Right now it is 27 deg F. High is supposed to be 45 deg F.

Thinking my math sucks a bit though, my lady tells me its 58 sleeps until we depart NZ? Ha - who knew?

I'm hoping Florida doesn't see much snow . . . not a fan! I take my hat off to anyone that has to live with snow on a consistent basis. We had some coverage on our news of the snow blast that hit NY state . . . up to 15+ feet of the stuff . . . what the!!!!


Great looking country side you have there in Arizona Mike. Crazy to think our entire country is smaller than your state!

I've been so busy at work that i haven't noticed how close it has gotten! I can't even explain how excited i am now, though i feel bad because i haven't been updating this thread for everyone reading. Excitement is there in bucket loads but with only a few spots left in my diary before Christmas, work has taken priority at the moment.

55 sleeps left & getting less & less real fast! Shopping list is growing too! I see PBMG is growing . . . wonder if they need some more staff? Would make getting to Thursday night projects, Detail Fest, Cars & Coffee, etc etc a whole lot easier hahaha.

Thanks for tuning in though mate, i'll try harder to keep everyone up to date.

First day of summer yesterday . . . well thats what it was supposed to be. We got snow down to 400 metres (unheard of for us in December) Rain, hail & nasty cold winds - pretty yuck really. Then a crispy white frost to wake up to today. Helicopters everywhere making a racket . . . summer . . Ha!

Anyhow - 51 sleeps until we make our way to Boot Camp!

Sooo can't wait!!!! :dblthumb2:

Its fantastic being on AGO & having like minded detailers being excited & sharing my excitement with me. I tell people i know, customers etc what i am doing & only a few actually "get it".

I will do my best to keep everyone up to date with what we are up to from the minute we head off to the airport until we are home safe.

Like Rafael said make sure you keep us all in the loop with the goings on of your adventure - I am sure you are going to have a blast and learn (2)? bucket loads.

Yeah mate, excited beyond words really. :buffing: Getting really close now - 50 sleeps!

I'm pretty certain this is going to be an amazing experience. Can't wait to get there & meet Mike, the AG crew & some other detailers. I don't know any real detailers here in my home town, or even close to be honest, so thats gunna be cool. :xyxthumbs:

A real low point for me has been when I tell people what i'm doing & explain about Boot Camp - I get "but you've been doing it for so long, why do you need to do that" quite often. Sure i've been pro detailing for just over 20 years now but I know i'll learn plenty at Boot Camp. Some people "get it" & some people don't i guess.

Boot Camp update! :xyxthumbs:

40 sleeps left guys!!! :dblthumb2: Thats only 5 & a bit weeks! I think it was 22 weeks when i first put Boot Camp in the Autogeek shopping basket.

I had my own little slice of Boot Camp all on my lonesome this week - we have a local classic, hotrod & custom bike show on tomorrow & have been busy preparing a couple of cars for that. Just a small show for charity - around 50 invited cars & unsure how many bikes.

Had a 47 Ford in for a correction detail, a Ferrari F430 for a quick tidy up & I have a spot saved for me to do some promo work at the show - so have just finished doing a one owner, original paint 1970 Volkswagen Bug 50/50 (taped right down the centre) polish & wax to showcase what I can do. Dub is Pampas Yellow - severely oxidised but a genuine tidy example & responded well to a good thorough Megs #7 over night & 205 to bring back the shine.

Unfortunately had a Lamborghini that couldn't make it but kinda worked out well because the diary was pretty jam packed with other work. Will post pictures of the show as soon as i can to show what is around our wee town down under.

Anyway! 40 Sleeps!!! Have a billion butterflies in my stomach now! Even got some US dollars at the bank the other day . . . haven't asked how much pocket $ I'm allowed to spend at AG yet though.

We're really looking forwad to having you here Richard and you can trust me when I say this class is going to be over the top awesome!

And the first class to use the brand new Show Car Garage! And after the work that was done yesterday and ongoing today I think it's going to blow everyone away when they see the new look!

You really make it SO easy for people to want to attend these Boot Camps . . . I'm thinking theres a flip side to that though! What am i going to do when its time to leave??? Wont you need me to stick around & help with Thursday night projects, Detail Fest, Cars n Coffee etc etc???

Really though - this is shaping up to be an unbelievable experience. Excitement has morphed into a nervous, anxious excitement . . . almost over whelming. Its great! Roll on Boot Camp!!! :buffing:

New Show Car Garage looks awesome guys! Hard to believe that I am actually gonna be in there in person. Yay!!! :dblthumb2:

Only three & a bit more days of work until I can have a well deserved break for Christmas. I haven't asked Santa for anything at all - hoping Santa is going to let me break open the piggy bank when i get to Boot Camp! :buffing:

If anyone reading this can give an idea on how far away the Marriot is from AG & whats the easiest way to get there (taxis, walk, etc) is would be great. We wont be driving is the point.

Christmas morning here in lil ol NZ. Waking up to another (sorry BillE) 30 degree (celcius) day here, blue sky & not a cloud in sight. BBQ gassed up & ready to go.

Finished up work for the year yesterday, workshop tidied up & a few days off to relax now until the fifth. :xyxthumbs:

Then back to work for about seventeen days before we start making our way to BOOT CAMP!!!!!:buffing: . . . . east bound & down . . . loaded up & truckin' . . . (I'll blame Mike for that for posting the pics of the Firebird )

28 SLEEPS TO GO!!!! :dblthumb2:
