If you look at this picture carefully, I tried to take the picture at just the right angle to make it look like there's an orange hood scoop stiicking out of the hood on the Alfa...

Thank you Doc for trusting us with your Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce!

And thank you to all the guys that helped with the project!

I wish you would have posted pictures of what the car looked like after using only the porter cable, I thought that was the purpose of the post in the first place

You stated in the first post, "This is the tool we are going to use"

I really wanted to see what the PC could do with that paint, since I own the 7424

I thought the same thing. I'm assuming the PC just couldn't tackle the job.

Yes that was kind of a letdown. Don't get me wrong the car look 3,000,000 times better for it though I'm sure.

Well I explained in a previous post that the car looked GREAT after using only the Porter Cable, in fact the OWNER was ecstatic.

It comes natural to me to want to do the best I can and like I said before, when I scheduled this car and proposed to only use the PC I though all we had to do was remove holograms, not remove lots of deep scratches.

Things changed.

So we're fluid down here and we changed or process to do even better work. That's something we can be proud of...

One thing people that detail cars need to learn and that is you need to be able to change your process on the fly...

I understand that things can change. However, the title of the thread is very misleading.

Nice job and then some,
wish you'd post more after photos if you get a chance.

I hear you...

I have hundreds of pictures showing the "process" but taking huge pictures files, sorting through them all and picking out the ones that are in focus and tell a story, then cropping out the fluff, resizing them to 800 pixels wide, uploading them to the server, snagging the BB Code to make them display and then inserting the code and adding a few words to go with the pictures is very time intensive.

I want to go through them and post them but I also have to pull and pack products for a TV shoot and due to the priority level of shooting shows for TV pulling and packing outweighs sharing pictures.

I always do my best...

:)

I hear you too Mike.

Sometimes just puting up a couple of pictures takes me a while, let alone doing all your other chores....
I should've put " IF & When you get a chance".:props:

One of the best parts of the project is pizza!

OK Now I'm lost,
you said no time to post more photos because of :work:...
But found time for the Pizza picture? Which was :offtopic:
Well well, let me see now....:bat:

I gotta admit though the Pizzas look too damn delizioso, to the PIZZA Man.

Very nice, it is like you and Rod have always said, you need to have many tools in the toolbox! The pc did what it was meant to,but to make the client extremely happy you pulled out another tool.

I too grimaced when I saw the before pictures taken outside. In all honesty I questioned if this one could be saved at all even knowing your extraordinary talent. I knew it could be made to look better (even with a PC) but you guys knocked it out of the park. Frankly I think it was a brilliant and generous move to go to the Flex for the deep scratches. The way I see it you and the class saved this gentleman the cost of a very expensive repaint.

I do understand the members that only own a PC grumping a bit about why results were not shown using that machine only. In fact that is what the very title of your article indicates. I also realize that you are trying to help the car owner, watch over a class of newbies working on said car, teach, and take pictures all at once. Then the real work begins sorting pics getting ready for tomorrow, another show in a different state etc., etc., etc.

All I'm saying Mike is back away from this, read your title, and reconsider what those folks were expecting. Thanks again for another great lesson and frankly unexpected results.
