How quickly does AG ship orders out?

Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. Used to be 100% PBMG. Then after...I'll just say an incident, not out to slam anyone...I switched. One vendor gave me a bottle of coating free when one I was asking them about wasn't available. I ordered two bottles of EXO, the freight from AG would have been 21.95 I believe. The freight I paid was 2.83 regular price on their shipping.[/ordering two... I know exactly what happened that time with you Dave. ;) And as you and I have discussed... I had several orders over the Christmas season that were promised as one thing (high dollar free gifts) and delivered as something ENTIRELY different. Of course was my fault (me thinks not) for not telling/reminding them to do what they had said they were going to do in the first place.

I have NEVER played one (supplier) against the other, and have been RELIGIOUSY loyal (to a fault) these last few years. But I can not go with minimum $150 orders every time I want something. (And as such have come in realize that I actually DON'T NEED half the stuff I've been ordering... Which CarMomma just loves.) :D Although as I said earlier, (with only a couple of exceptions) my orders generally show up only 2 days after ordering.

Sure... $150 is not a lot for a commercial account order... but there is no such thing with AG as commercial accounts, which is unusual in this day and age. :dunno: Joe weekender, the guy that imo AG has the largest market share of just can't afford to drop $150 every time he wants to try something new. Seems new policies may have actually hurt sales in some instances when you take that into consideration. :dunno: I can't help but think about what my Mom used to say... "Your getting to big for your britches". I can unequivocally say that I've stopped ordering from sales, specials, new product offerings, bogo's and the like because I *WILL NOT* order $150 minimums just to try the newest, latest and greatest offerings.

My stuff never gets out their door for 2-3 days. That is my major complaint with them. Plus I'm in NY so even if I order Monday I never see it the same week. If I order from Ray at Autopia he seems to be able to push it through the system.

I know AG and Autopia are the same parent company but shipping from AG has always been slower.

I live only 50 miles from AG. and when I place an order before 3 o'clock I usually get it next day.

I don't understand what the big deal is. If you want faster shipping, pay for it.

:dblthumb2::dblthumb2::dblthumb2::iagree:

^^^Or....just order from somebody else.

And the comment about getting an order changed or whatever with an eBay vendor: Yeah, it's easy to get things changed with AG because they wait 2-3 DAYS before they send your order out. With an eBay vendor, they process your order and get it out that day or the next day. Difficult to change something when it's already on the FedEx truck on its way to your doorstep within a few hours of ordering. Also, I've probably made somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 purchases on eBay over the last 12 years. I've probably been disappointed in the service once or twice. For example, I ordered a bottle of M21 from a reputable vendor on eBay. The product arrived to my door within 3 days. Unfortunately, the bottle had been crushed by UPS. The seller had a new bottle on my doorstep 2 days later along with a prepaid label to send the other one back. That's 5 days total to receive 2 different shipments from a vendor. AG was barely able to get me 1 single order in DOUBLE that amount of time. Personally, eBay has about a 99.5% positive experience rating for me and AG is currently 0 for 1.

I agree with what others have stated about having to order $150+ at a time in order to receive free shipping. If I'm just ordering 1-3 items, there's no way I'm going to pay as much to ship them as I pay for the items themselves when there are plenty of vendors out there who will get small orders to my door in a much more reasonable amount of time at a much more reasonable shipping cost. For a weekend warrior detailer such as myself who only works on personal vehicles, (much like the majority of members on this forum), why would I stock up on supplies $150+ at a time when I can get on eBay and order a couple items here or there as I'm running out? Just so I can have a hundred bottles of polish sitting in my garage collecting dust?

I will say it again, I like AG's product selection. I like AG's overall pricing on their items. I like their product knowledge. I don't like the thought of being gouged for shipping every time I want to order something that costs less than $150. I also don't like having to wait a week and half for orders to get to my doorstep. Judging by the responses in this thread, it seems like I am not alone.

I live on the west coast of Florida & I receive my AG orders 2 days after ordering.:xyxthumbs: All good, there.

if you ever have any problems and/or are looking to price match, call AG first and see what they can do for you.. :xyxthumbs:

Hey Cardaddy,

Too big for your britches lol haven't heard that one in a while. I don't think I'm spending any less money. Everyone seems to have sales and new products seem to be coming out faster than ever.
Detailing supply business seems to be pretty competitive. Not only price, but customer service as well.
I opened an order from another vendor today and they made a mistake. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Fortunately I'm not in a hurry for the product.

If you like the PBMG house brands there are other options (brand specific web sites, amazon, etc) that allows smaller orders with less shipping. For example, if you like Blackfire, the blackfire.com site had 20% off and free shipping recently. On amazon, PBMG shipping usually is $6.95 for a single item but no discounts.

Had to clean up this thread, if you are new and have not read forum rules please do so, this is a family friendly forum.

Second if you on west coast ready this thread...
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/company-forum-news-headlines/70967-west-coast-shipping.html

Third if you want you order to ship same day just leave us a note in the comments box, when we do large sales like the past ones this week it can put us a day behind but we have no problem pushing your orders out first if you let us know you need it.

Now let's get back on topic and give a hand to our other members on here and helping each other out.

Thank you! Really, all I want is to be able to place an order over the weekend and be able to receive it in time to use on my car the following weekend. I am currently building up a wish list and will be ordering again from AG in the not too distant future. :xyxthumbs:

Very reasonable, IMO. I think that is not too much to expect. If a company can't ship in a reasonable timeframe, they should at least keep you updated.

I have never dealt with a company that takes longer to ship an order. If I order over a weekend I'm lucky to have it shipped out on the following Wed. Usually it's Thursday. My last order was placed on a Friday (night) and shipped out the following Wed. and I got it the following Tues. a full 10 days after I ordered it. It was so long I actually forgot about the order and was surprised to see a package on the doorstep. It has been this way for the last 3 years and I don't expect it to change any time soon.

if you place an order and you do not get shipping confirmation the same day (assuming you placed before cut-off time) call the next morning and I'm sure they will answer and take care of any questions/concerns you may have...

No issues with my order. I did have issues with ordering a Griots Garage 3" from Advanced Online.
