For as little time it takes to apply HD Poxy with a DA I'm a big fan of it on top of Speed, it adds more gloss and the longevity it provides is well worth the added step imho. At most it adds about a half hour to apply and remove.
Im not questioning the use of a wax/sealant. I'm questioning the use of the AIO altogether. I'm saying if you're gonna do two steps, why not maximize those steps using a dedicated polish and dedicated wax/sealant?
Great question. Using Speed instead of a polish without a protectant will net you more gloss and a better foundation for additional protection like Poxy, Express, etc as all the polishes and protectants share the same base oils. This also means that the surface doesn't need to be stripped in order for the protectant to bond. Keep in mind that Speed isn't your standard AIO. It does many tasks.
Ok. So let me repeat this back to see if I'm understanding correctly. Using HD Polish and then HD Poxy will result in good correction and gloss. Using HD Speed and then HD Poxy will result in better gloss, but compromises correction slightly. Yes?
Keep in mind that Speed isn't your standard AIO. It does many tasks.
I thought that was the definition of an AIO - many tasks. It supposedly has more cut than many AIO but what else can it do?
I brush my teeth with it!!!
I've found the correction I get out of HD Speed depends a good bit on my pad selection as well as the paint in question. If I use a green B&S/CG Hex pad I get really solid correction in most cases. In my estimation the 2000 grit or finer spec is spot on, maybe even a tiny bit conservative. With a white LC flat pad I get significantly less correction, but it seems to finish with a better gloss. There are more aggressive AIOs out there, but I don't find them to finish out as well as HD Speed. Great product in my opinion, and frequently used in my lineup.
