How long to work HD Speed?

For as little time it takes to apply HD Poxy with a DA I'm a big fan of it on top of Speed, it adds more gloss and the longevity it provides is well worth the added step imho. At most it adds about a half hour to apply and remove.

Im not questioning the use of a wax/sealant. I'm questioning the use of the AIO altogether. I'm saying if you're gonna do two steps, why not maximize those steps using a dedicated polish and dedicated wax/sealant?

Great question. Using Speed instead of a polish without a protectant will net you more gloss and a better foundation for additional protection like Poxy, Express, etc as all the polishes and protectants share the same base oils. This also means that the surface doesn't need to be stripped in order for the protectant to bond. Keep in mind that Speed isn't your standard AIO. It does many tasks.

Ok. So let me repeat this back to see if I'm understanding correctly. Using HD Polish and then HD Poxy will result in good correction and gloss. Using HD Speed and then HD Poxy will result in better gloss, but compromises correction slightly. Yes?

It's a good question, technically with HD Speed you really don't need to do a 2nd step by nature of it's design. It's designed to clean, correct & seal. Longevity of the Proxy in Speed can last months, and of course longevity is subjective. Depends on conditions such as climate, weather, driving habits, traffic, etc..

- 3D HD Speed is an all-in-one cleaner, polish and sealant

If you're the type of person that needs more protection, then you are correct, polish, erasure (or IPA) then coating would be the end all LSP until your next wash & reload.

But that's not the intention of Speed. It's correction, cleansing and protection until next maintenance cycle. Handy for the person or customer whose car is a disaster (inside & out) and wants it looking like the day they purchased it new, in less than x-hours, and moreover isn't going to pay for a multi-step process.

There are many times I just use Speed alone and not top off with anything else (if pressed for time). But when I do top off, it's usually with Pinnacle Liquid Souveran.
(that sounded like a commercial...) lol...

Anyway, you get the point. Speed is great for long working times, about 6 passes. But as Matt from Landrover demonstrated, he got great results in 4 section passes.

Just to further clarify.....No correction will be compromised when using HD Speed instead of HD Polish. If anything, there are more abrasives in Speed and you'll get better correction power as well as higher gloss potential. I personally tend to finish all my correction jobs with HD Speed unless I'm finishing things off with a coating.

I thought that was the definition of an AIO - many tasks. It supposedly has more cut than many AIO but what else can it do?

I take it you've never tried HD Speed? If not, I would highly suggest doing so as describing it to someone that hasn't tried it isn't as powerful as actually trying it for yourself. That's probably why so many people have been raving about it since it was released a few years back. Regardless, as I said, HD Speed is much more than an AIO. It's a Cleaner Wax that can remove topical imperfections/staining in paint, chrome & bare metals. It's a Final Polish that can be used by hand or with any kind of polisher to provide a final finish unmatched by any dedicated polish. It's a Correction/Compounding Polish that can remove 2000 and finer grit sanding scratches. It's a Gloss Enhancer & Glaze by amplifying paint to very high levels. It's can also be used a dedicated Paint Protectant offering great stand alone protection & shine. Also, it can be considered a Building Block or Primer to other 3D/HD paint protectants as it chemistry meshes uniquely with them creating longer lasting shine & protection. When HAND WIPED over dry/hazy/swirled paint if can fill in those imperfections for an extended period of time. Bottom line, if you had to pick 1 product that could handle almost every paint polishing & correcting chore, hands down HD Speed would be able to fulfill that need greater than any other product in its class.

I brush my teeth with it!!!

And even though we don't condone it, some people even brush their teeth with it! :D

I've found the correction I get out of HD Speed depends a good bit on my pad selection as well as the paint in question. If I use a green B&S/CG Hex pad I get really solid correction in most cases. In my estimation the 2000 grit or finer spec is spot on, maybe even a tiny bit conservative. With a white LC flat pad I get significantly less correction, but it seems to finish with a better gloss. There are more aggressive AIOs out there, but I don't find them to finish out as well as HD Speed. Great product in my opinion, and frequently used in my lineup.

HD Speed is amazing, no doubt. I've done three cars with it so far in the last month and it's been great. Still, I'm going to contend the point of an AIO is that it's a one-step process and if you're doing two or more steps, then there are other products to use than an AIO. Still, HD Speed is the best AIO that I've tried, hands down, and I'm looking forward to many great details with it.

I used a white pad with HD because I had already used my yellow and orange pads. I was really impressed!

I used m205 with an orange pad on a fender adhacent to a door with Speed and and white pad. The M205 may have had slightly better gloss, but I would think the 205 is a little more aggressive and it was on a more aggressive pad to boot.

VERY nice product. I would've bought Poxy to top it with, but I had a whole brand new bottle of Wet Diamond that I wanted to use. That should last 100 years! I will still give it a shot someday though.

David--when will be see this white one step pad??

At this point it's only available with the HD Dual Action Polisher kit. We're also working on finalizing a separate 1 Step pad (not sure if it is exactly like the white one in my video).

Honcho I do not recommend to use hydro-techs the h20 technology does not like ALL IN ONE POLISHES.

the hydrotech pads don't work the polish wet , it gums up the pad and does not polish correctly.

Use lake country flat pads, or buff and shine.

Even the meguiars foam discs don't work to well with HD speed .

The flat pads work the product really wet and leave a nice buffer trail behknd.

The hydrotech pads gum up and apply the product un even

I have a lot of experience with HD speed as I use it almost everyday.

And working with the hydrotech is a little depressing and not enjoyable like HD speed should be.

When you try it you'll see what I'm talking abot
