I was looking forward to doing this car for several reasons. First, it's a referral from a fellow who's sent me several people...don't you love it when you get a customer like that?!? Secondly, I don't think I've done an orange car before and was looking forward to dealing with that colour. This was also going to be my last job using Americoat (I discounted it for him) as it's my last bottle sadly.

Here it is as it arrived:

I don't remember Mustang's having this kind of nasty brake dust:

So, the paint had some issues, but nothing terrible.

Onto the job. First up was the wheels. The faces were cleaned with BAM wheel acid as were the barrels. That was followed by Zep Citrus. The tires were cleaned with Zep 505 and the plastic wells with LATA.

The paint was then foamed and washed with Megs Hyper Wash. It was then washed again using IronX paste. It was brought inside and blown off with the Master Blaster and then clayed with a clay towel.

The hood was the worst and got Chop Top where needed with 3401 + TB black wool. Where it did not need to be so aggressive, I used Amerirocks compound with the black wool followed by Ameridepth with a yellow B/S pad. I finished it off with Essence + white B/S pad. The paint, wheel faces, side and rear glass were all double coated with Americoat. The tires were shot with Opti Bond from my air gun. The trim was done with DLux. Here she is, inside and out after 15 hours:

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful work my friend! That orange really pops now:)

That's the best looking pumpkin in the patch Richy! Well done!

Looks like a great turn around. Whatd you use on the tips?

Also looks like you missed a lot of spots on the rear trim

Just kidding lol

Great job as always Richy! That Stang is popping now! Love that color!

excellent richy, hope you've been doing well!

p.s. we all know you love the wool pad with the flex, here's a new wool pad by lake country (limited time only) that may or may not peak your interest...

Thanks Marc! Honestly, he was blown away.

Looks great!!! That front license plate, though....

OMG...I'll be checking that link immediately after finishing this one! Thanks so much for thinking about me. I've also used the Polish Angel one and it is good too, just costs too much IMO.

Tasty Rich! - Orange goes alright on the Pony
I think so too. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Incredible job as usual my friend! The LC wools that Visitor linked are VERY nice. I test drive one on my brother's Camaro with my 3401 and some HD Cut+ and Very happy with them. BTW, how many cigars did it take you to finish?

Thanks Don! I think it was 4...maybe 5.

Awesome!! You brought that baby back to life!! Awesome work!
Thanks. Seeing your avatar, you'd like that this was a stick too.

Hey Richy, nice to see you back. :props:

Great work as usual on this Mustang mate, I must say - I too like the Orange & yet, haven't seen that colour option down here. Orange never seems to look right in photos & I'm guessing this looks even better in person. Stunning work Richy.
The New LC wool pads have me curious too . . . can't see them being no good, & if Don gives them the tick of approval, I'm in!

Useless information time - Us Kiwi folk are only second behind the States for Mustang ownership!

Nice post mate, thanks for sharing.

Ive said it once, Ill say it again, if I ever move to Canada (or Canada moves south)(both unlikely to happen) Richy will be my detailer of choice!
