Fair warning, this is a pic heavy thread. This car was such a transformation, there is no other way to show it's transformation other than the photo's here.

The Story:
My neighbor saw me doing an Audi R8 a few months ago.. https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/115281-lsn-autodetailing-2013-audi-r8-v10.html
He wanted to talk to me about getting his car done. I thought he was referring to his wife's C300, but the garage door opened and this beauty was inside.
Boy, she needed some TLC!!! He was the 8th owner and don't think it's ever been detailed. He had been searching for someone he could trust, but after seeing the R8 and my cars, he made an appointment.
The goal was to make the car better than it was, but he wants to drive the heck out of it. (it has 50K miles on it now), so he wanted it to be a drivers car, with rock-chips and all.
I think we overshot the goal! :)

This was a two day affair with red goddess in need of our help!

Products:
- Engine: Wolfgang Total Engine Cleaner, various daytona and mothers brushes; Mckee's Trim Detailer; BLACKFIRE AIO
- Rockers and bumpers: Tarminator & McKee's bug scrubber (yep, it needed it!)
- Wheels: GG Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner, wheel woolies, Daytona Speed Brush
- Megs Hyper Wash D110; AG Foam Gun, 2BM w/ Chenille Wash Mitts

- Nano Skin Clay / Megs D114 Clay Lube

Paint Test Spots (and here is where things got tricky!!!) Paint was soft in some spots, harder where it was repaired.
- Delfesko PTG showed good readings except high readings in left rear shoulder.
- Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish on White CCS on Rupes MK II on test spot 1 - LOOKED Great, could be better - I could have lived with this...
- Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish on Orange CCS on Rupes MK II on test spot 2 - Looked great, not much difference with the white pad... Dealing with soft paint.
- Pinnacle Advanced Compound on Green Rupes Pad on Rupes MK II on test spot 3 - Too much correction, too fast especially for DAT - scared me a bit, back it down!
- Griot's BOSS Perfecting Creme on BOSS Orange Pad with BOSS G-15 - WE HAD A WINNER! :) porridge was just right. The rear left shoulder I bumped up to Griot's Correcting Cream

Interior:
- Tornador with McKee's HD APC 10:1 w/ my NEW 30 Gal 5.7CFM Kobalt Compressor
- Metro Vac
- Pinnacle Leather Vinyl Cleaner

I miss my extractor!!! No 30 amp plug in the new place!!! :( But Interior Gal did a great job none the less

Wow, great transformation. Great work and documentation. I'll have to try McKee's wax remover and BF AIO. Those bumperettes look new.

JUST WOW! What a way to bring that baby out! Good to see that I know how to clay by seeing your picture of the Nanoskin Blue! I use the same kind. That make me an EXPERT like you!....LOL All kidding aside very great work!

I haven't seen a McIntosh car amp since I had one installed in a '89 Mustang GT. The owner obviously takes his sound seriously!

Excellent work and thread!!! Very nice transformation and no need for any apologies about all the pics! Well done!!!!

Absolutely amazing work!. It was still pretty hot here this past weekend so even more impressive you pulled off a difficult, 2 day job in the heat.

Great job. That car looks fantastic.

I'm looking at one very similar to that this weekend. The '98-'04 Turbos are a bargain right now (relative to other years).

Amazing job Paul! Looks so new! :D

I love that BF AIO trim stuff.

So it was a 1 step polish using "Griot's BOSS Perfecting Creme on BOSS Orange Pad with BOSS G-15" right? How long did the polishing phase take?

I would be lying if I said I am jealous. I have not been hired for a Porsche yet. They are my favorites!

Great work. Stunning!

Thanks LED! Mike@dedicated did a great video on the BF AIO. I used on the tires too...

Thanks Kmakaz.. If this were in more pristine condition, I may have used Pinnacle Poly Fine Clay, but given it's condition, we needed it deconed and into polishing asap.

Very nice work and great write up.

Thanks custmsprty!

Thanks Brett, I told the owner if he wanted better 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, he could shed about 200lbs by removing that amp! :)

Thanks Scott! We're good with those hot mops too!

Thanks Wknd Dtlr, Weather was about 100 at peak time. We knew by 4pm as that sun came around that it was time to pack up for the day.

Great job. That car looks fantastic.

Thanks Rippy!

So it was a 1 step polish using "Griot's BOSS Perfecting Creme on BOSS Orange Pad with BOSS G-15" right? How long did the polishing phase take?

Yup, it ended up being a 1 step after many test spots. I was getting really good correction with least aggressive combo's. BOSS is sun safe (to a point...) and no dusting. The only area that was more aggressive was the rear drivers side quarter panel. After correcting with Perfecting cream there were still a ton of swirls and scratches, so I went back over it with the Correcting Cream and Orange pad and that did the trick.

My fear was either this was super soft paint, or really hard paint, but when I saw sticky finger marks in the hood, the owner told me that was from waxing by hand. So my second fear was super soft and single stage. Luckily it wasn't single stage, but was super soft... which meant I had to be really careful removing polish. Only in a few spots after removing polish did I have to go back over and spot buff some sections that still had light swirls. There were even a few sections I did by hand with a foam MF applicator and Perfecting cream on day two. This car was so finicky, picky and new things just kept presenting themselves. I'd say all the polishing took at least 4, maybe 4-1/2 hours. Total job was estimated at 22 hours and that's exactly what it came out too. At the end of the day we used about 7 or 8 orange pads.

I would be lying if I said I am jealous. I have not been hired for a Porsche yet. They are my favorites!

Great work. Stunning!

Oops * ain't jealous is what I meant.

Know what you meant... Plenty of Porches in NH, and lots have swirls and scratches... :) Thanks Dan!

Very nice!!!

Did you use Deluxe on the bumper gaurds too?

Just had to ask since the look so nice now.
