Fair warning, this is a pic heavy thread. This car was such a transformation, there is no other way to show it's transformation other than the photo's here.
The Story:
My neighbor saw me doing an Audi R8 a few months ago.. https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/115281-lsn-autodetailing-2013-audi-r8-v10.html
He wanted to talk to me about getting his car done. I thought he was referring to his wife's C300, but the garage door opened and this beauty was inside.
Boy, she needed some TLC!!! He was the 8th owner and don't think it's ever been detailed. He had been searching for someone he could trust, but after seeing the R8 and my cars, he made an appointment.
The goal was to make the car better than it was, but he wants to drive the heck out of it. (it has 50K miles on it now), so he wanted it to be a drivers car, with rock-chips and all.
I think we overshot the goal!
This was a two day affair with red goddess in need of our help!
Products:
- Engine: Wolfgang Total Engine Cleaner, various daytona and mothers brushes; Mckee's Trim Detailer; BLACKFIRE AIO

- Megs Hyper Wash D110; AG Foam Gun, 2BM w/ Chenille Wash Mitts

Paint Test Spots (and here is where things got tricky!!!) Paint was soft in some spots, harder where it was repaired.
- Delfesko PTG showed good readings except high readings in left rear shoulder.
- Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish on White CCS on Rupes MK II on test spot 1 - LOOKED Great, could be better - I could have lived with this...
- Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish on Orange CCS on Rupes MK II on test spot 2 - Looked great, not much difference with the white pad... Dealing with soft paint.
- Pinnacle Advanced Compound on Green Rupes Pad on Rupes MK II on test spot 3 - Too much correction, too fast especially for DAT - scared me a bit, back it down!
- Griot's BOSS Perfecting Creme on BOSS Orange Pad with BOSS G-15 - WE HAD A WINNER!
porridge was just right. The rear left shoulder I bumped up to Griot's Correcting Cream
