A friend sent me an article on-line that said last years model Toshiba HD-DVD player that was selling for 399.99 is being blown out as a Wal-mart and Best-Buy in store special only for 99.99. I called the local Wallyworld and did find out they had several but sold out on Friday....
I found out this same unit (something like model DA2) is being sold at Circuit City for 129.99 also. 170.00 off their current list price of 299.99. And thru the end of the year they are giving away 5 free movies with its purchase thru the mail.
Kinda a heads up for anyone getting into the HD-DVD market and wants a nice unit at a reasonable price. While Blu-ray took the early lead, the online consensus seems to suggest that HD-DVD is coming back quickly with cheaper units and cheaper movies with same great output. Not here to argue the outcome, but certainly alot cheaper than my PS3 that until now has made a better player than game machine.
