Need advice on PW hose

Upgraded my PW to the Active 2.3 and Active recommends a steel braided hose. The Kobrajet isn't steel braided but it's actually a bit stronger than the included hose and Flexilla is on the "do not use" list of hoses.

Is the gray Kobrajet stiffer than the smooth blue version? Several years ago my research said to get single wire coil vs double wire coil as it was more flexible and the electric PWs don't require as heavy duty of a hose.

How do you like the Active 2.3? I have the old VE51 and it churns out 1.8 GPM which isn't bad. I've had it for over three years now and it's still chuggin' along just fine. When it dies I'll get the newer version.

When we use them with a reel we remove one of the QC’s to attach directly to reel…and need 2 big wrenches to twist it off the hose

just got my kobrajet blue hose. Wow, you're not kidding about needing two big wrenches to remove the QC. I tried with mine and it didn't budge it. Luckily, my neighbor had two monster crescent wrenches and that did the job to bust it free from the thread locker.

Thanks for the tip as I would have been baffled as to why it was on there so tight.

Yeah, was quite the surprise the first time we encountered it. Glad the neighbor had the ‘big guns’!

I've got the 100 foot gray Kobrajet. It's pliable but it's also a bit on the heavy side compared to the old Flexilla I had. I've gotten used to it so I don't miss my Flexilla at all.

When Yamatic sent me a replacement set of quick connects, they included this adapter to connect 2 hoses together, so if I wanted to I could have 100’ of hose. In your situation, is having 100’ of hose a must have?

For me it was necessary. I wanted to be able to wash my driveway and all of my sidewalk and the 50 foot Flexilla wasn’t long enough.
