No wonder 10 year old cars look like Swiss Cheese
I guess that year was 2014, and the whole east coast ran out of salt because we had so much snow, we were waiting for some container ship full of salt that they wouldn't let dock here or something and it was going to go to Baltimore, I can't remember what happened, I think they finally let it dock here in the NYC area.

I just think it's funny, some years ago someone in my town dumped some old gasoline, like from a lawnmower can, down the storm drain, and it was a whole HazMat event with the county, who went down stream to block the storm sewer, for half a gallon of gasoline, but it's ok to wash leventy-seven dump trucks full of salt down the storm drains.

Winter storage came sooner than usual this year.

A lot of companies get a lot of money for the salt scam. Just think how many vehicles have to be replaced prematurely. I know my 19 year old truck and my wife's 15 year old 200 would be at end of life had they lived up there. Down here they should be OK for another combined 400k without to much trouble. The lack of car payments will build a shop with a lift.

I can't help but wonder what the cost would be to run a few lines of heated pex through the roadways up north. It would put a lot of money in the pockets of the middle class.

I don't know about in America but up here the constantly shifting roadbeds from permafrost, frost heaves, earthquakes, etc would have that PEX in pieces pretty darn quick

There are some rich folks and small businesses that have that in driveways but nothing large scale

Wait--you don't live in America?
Some people up here refer to the lower 48 as America

Lots of the time it doesn't feel like we are part of America, especially after reading "applies to the lower 48 states only" in the fine print on shipping, etc

Or "CONUS" only, which is Continental US only

Last time I looked we were still attached to the continent, but we don't count I guess

Mustang 'tucked away' for winter in my in-laws' shop. Gave it a quick rinseless wash the night before.

Picked up some new wheels for the daily! Got a set of 18" Martian MW08's to use for a new set of Performance all season EV tires I’ve been asked to test out. Excited to share more details as things progress, but I should have them mounted and installed by the first week of December.

I was kind of hoping to go with 19’s for this setup, but the goal is to keep things apples-to-apples for the testing. Honestly, I love the smooth ride on 18’s, so no complaints there. These are finished in a sleek Gunmetal Grey with a metallic finish. I almost went for bronze—probably would have if they were 19’s—but I’m happy with this fresh look.

If all goes well, these will become my summer wheels, and I’ll keep the OEM wheels with the stock Hankooks as my winter setup. Can’t wait to see how this combo works out!

Agree. The new ones are going to be the summer set up. I'm putting them on now as the new test tires are all seasons and they want to see how they perform in winter. I'm putting them on now and will run them through next fall when I'll put the OEM's back on.

Odrapnew, you ran out of room in your "building", and had to put a car at your in-laws? That's a nice looking shop, though.
