Rinseless Washes - 2022

For me my one and only bottle felt “greasy” not slick on paint. Ended giving it away and buying a gallon of Mckee’s

I think RW's have gotten so good that they've platued, so people are going to pick a brand(s) that they know and/or are comfortable with

They’re big in Texas and Cali…. There were alot of concierge services in mall garages that would detail your car with “rinse free washes”. My sister even knew what one was. But yeah mostly unknown… people scared of new.

I can't even remember, it's been so long since I've used it. I remember it being fine, well, nothing objectionable.

That was always the problem with Beta testers, they would develop this devotion to the brand because they felt like they were being let in on secrets, etc.

Obviously I never followed the 1 bucket method, too bad there wasn't a better push/education of RW's back then, more regular people could be keeling their cars cleaner

So where did you buy the Carbon Collective?
The best bottle design I've seen is the liter bottle of Feynlab. With the measuring built right in. Although they are not the inventors of that design. Stabil (gasoline treatment) has been using that design for years.

$28 for 500ml ouch. I won't be trying it. That's not even including taxes and shipping. I'm not sure who some these producers are trying to market towards...Not professionasl or DIYer's IMO. Nxtzen rinseless is pricey too. And lets not forget Owner's Pride. I almost bought that because of Eddie! haha

3 of the rinse less i mentioned do suggest higher dilution ratios. It's still really hard to wrap my head around a 1:1000 of rinse less - which will not be much of anything besides water.

Another interesting thing about rinse less is the fact people(some) say a bottle will last a long time and it's cheap. If you use rinse less 90% of the time like me rinse less is more expensive than regular soap. I never understood that marketing ploy - another from OPT/Ivan probably. i use more rinseless per wash than soap - usually just 1oz of reset in 15 liters of water for instance.

No way i'm washing my car with 2 gallons of rinse less. That would be the argument for saying rinse less is cheaper.

Yeah my bottle was around $25.00 including shipping but I get your point. As far as ratios go, most of my other ones are 1 oz to 2 gallons, I go 2 oz to 3.5 gallons without an issue. That said, Feynlab RW v3 is 1.5 oz to 3.5 gallons, so I'm going that route with Carbon Collective, not sure when I'll be using it but I'll report here with my findings

Not sure where Carbon Collective is made but dont think its in the USA so that may have something to do with the higher cost.

Does it say on the bottle where it is made?
 
So a quick trip to Detail Division shows Carbon Collective is made in the UK.
In the Forensic Detailing video John included cost as part of his rating and i imagine its cheaper in the UK.. So shipping across the Atlantic adds significantly to the cost.

My guess is any detailing product that needs to be imported is going to have a tough go as of the increased cost in shipping (ie Carpro). Lots of good detailing products made in the USA.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that apart from a few notable exceptions, Carpro, Gyeon, KCx, the best detailing chemical brands do in fact come out of the USA. I'm not sure if it's a philosophy or chemical formula thing, but for whatever reason, the US brands seem to gel much better in Australia than the European/UK brands do.

Apart from a few very select products, Touch-less for example, pretty much every UK brand/product have left me disappointed.
