What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Wash time for the FJ. Foamed it with Reset, I haven't used it in the foamer before, but I was working on the lawn as I knew there would be a fair amount of mud dropping off, and the cheap Repco Hyper Foam burnt the grass a little the last time I used it. I then rinsed using the pressure washer as I wanted as much mud gone as possible before going to the contact wash.

I then did a bucket wash with Reset using the Meg's Reacher, I had a rinse bucket ready, but the big head of the Reacher won't fit flat on the grit guard, so I hosed it off after each section. I have to say I am happy with the Reacher, I could reach the whole roof from one side, so it definitely saves time, and the large flat rectangular head could get in tight spaces like behind the wing mirrors and it's great for getting in behind spare tire, much easier than squeezing my hand in there in a wash mitt.

After rinsing with the hose I moved it inside and dried it, no drying aid, and I used my favourite synthetic chamois, I wanted nothing added to the paint as I was planning to put something else on it, although I did wipe down in the door hams with Ech2o. Next I broke out the NV Jet, as I noticed some of water behaviour on the upper surfaces had degraded, finished off by cleaning the glass with Garage Therapy One Glass. Wheels and tires can wait for another day

I conducted the winter session of my “detailing school.” A coworker was kind enough to donate her car to allow me to use it as a training vehicle to begin teaching my mentee paint enhancement for beginners. This vehicle was the perfect test subject. The color hides a lot of defects until you get up close and personal. Scratched to hell, oxidized clear coat, grime in all of the seams, iron contamination; all the typical things you see with vehicles that live and die by tunnels washes. We took about 2.5 hours and managed to clean, decontaminate, polish and apply CanCoat.

Supposedly this Civic was washed about 6 weeks ago. You be the judge.

The left side is the oxidized paint and the right is after polishing. There’s still some water spots but the goal was to add gloss and remove the fine scratches.

Whoever recommended the Flex PXE I owe you one. The accessory kit made short work of those door handle scratches.

Didn’t plan on doing anything to the headlights but I tried Griot’s FCC just to see if it could make a difference and all it took was bout 5 minutes to remove 95% of the hazing.

For a 14 year old, this is impressive work. There are still plenty of scratches but to the untrained eye they are damn near invisible. The customer was more than pleased.

Love REAL details done by REAL detailers, GREAT job and glad you took the initiative on those headlights because it made ALL the difference, both from a safety and aestetics standpoint

Made up a bucket of Absolute and got two interiors done using it, a damp microfiber towel with it and a dry wipe microfiber towel. First time doing it this way but worked better than I thought.
RW does great in interiors

Had a break in the rain and it warmed up into the 40's. Did a quick Griot's Ceramic RW on the 3. With the conditions, I did about 1/4 of the car at a time.

I’ve all but abandoned using other cleaners for my interiors. DIY RW and a microfiber towel followed by CarPro Perl every 3 to 4 months for protection is my new routine.

I used ONR to clean the mud off the inside of the passenger door, dash and floor, and it worked like a champ, even removing all the dressing that was on there. It's great on my plastic floors and rubber mats. I like Perl as well, it's so versatile, but I'm currently trying out Nextzett Cockpit Premium.

Applied DIY interior ceramic to the interior of the Bronco. I did the dash, seats, mats, carpet — basically everything but the windows and roof.

Went on super easy. Understanding why one review wondered if anything was there afterwards. (I assume there is)

How do you do that on the carpet? I'm just trying to visualize how you would get that to be effective on something that has so much more surface area than a flat surface.

Spray a lot on and then brush it in. I did it twice an hour between. Didn’t use too much product all said. 1/4 bottle for a full size bronco.

Btw, Guz has a video using it on a mat. There’s also two demonstrations on the DIY videos.

Did a rinseless wash on the CRV with Duragloss 932. Did this in the garage as temp at wash time was 12 degrees. Washed the wheels and tires with the Duragloss as well. Topped the paint and glass with Turtle wax/ Wax and Dry, the wheels with hybrid Optimum dry aid and dressed tires with Aqua Gloss.

Wheels, tyres, wheel wells, and trim today. I used Bowden's Wheely Clean on the wheels, TWHS Hyper Foam on the rubber, I know it does tyres as well, but both products were almost done, and I got to finish off both, (y).
PSX_20250219_163555.jpg

I dressed the tyres with Carpro Perl, and coated the wheels with NV Jet. I also sprayed Perl in all the wheel wells, and dressed the trim with it as well. I'm not sure if it will last on the trim as it wanted to bead up more than spread out, so I think the 303 Graphene Trim Coating is still there.
PSX_20250219_163744.jpg

And just when I thought I was done, I remembered I hadn't coated the spare wheel, and that wouldn't be right.

Have you tried Mega snow job the alkaline one from Bowden's Own
I use it on the Amarok, paint, wheel wells etc just be careful around black plastic trim. 100ml to 900ml water in foam cannon.
