So this just popped up in my Instagram feed, is this something old that's new again, or is it just something new. I've never seen these before. This seems like a marketing angle that TRC should explore. As I alluded to earlier, first "you have to have waffle weave towels to dry your car" then once the market was saturated with that, "you really have to dry your car with a plush terry towel" and then once people stopped buying them, came the combination of the two (the "Pluffle"), then twist weave, then thicker twist weave, and now it's "you have to try our new thin drying towel!".
So "forget artificial towels made of plastic! Try our new 100% pure cotton for safe, natural cleaning!" could be a next step.
Like many of us, I'm always looking for the perfect glass towel. That looks like those "diamond weave" glass towels that appeared a few years ago "no lint!", that linted just as badly as the worst towel I've ever used, I think. To be fair, if you're drying off a drinking glass in a restaurant, you want it to look clean and have no obvious lint, which is a little different than trying to look through your windshield in the sun with a million flecks of microfiber lint on it.So this just popped up in my Instagram feed, is this something old that's new again, or is it just something new. I still have a few of these, including the big wide one. Big lots scores from probably back in 06 or 07. Reminds me of that Truck Line of stuff they had there too, it was pretty good stuff for back in the day.Well I'm just glad I kept my Meguiar's Soft Brush, with the removable, flippable head. I think I've had this 20 years. From memory I used it once on the roof of my Pathfinder, it kept wanting to spin in my hand, I then tried it on wheels, but the handle is too long, and when you take it off the handle you lose leverage. I'll say this though, the bristles are still incredibly soft.

Long Haul. The bug and tar remover was very good, for a non-solvent product, I still have some of it, and the QD, I think.I still have a few of these, including the big wide one. Yeah man !!! Bring back the cloth diapers !!! I have drawers filled with them when they were the way to detail. Heck if we can use the brush to wash our cars now I am breaking out all of my "grout sponges" I had saved lol.Further to that, I recently heard someone say that using microfiber on leather is a big no-no because its effectively plastic, which therefore abrades the surface and causes premature wear. Apparently, we should all be using 100% pure cotton for leather cleaning.
I love detailing, but sometimes it all becomes so ridiculous that you end up always doing something "wrong".
I remember Long Haul !!! The QD was actual decent. I still have all of my Meguiars brushes with the detachable heads. I loved the white soft one with the long handle for washing my boat. I think I picked up like 10 of the yellow/black leather brushes when Big Lots had them for $1.Long Haul. I think I have that Meg's body brush, but I don't think I ever used it, but I still have and use the very similar wheel face brush, although it's about worn out. I have some spares somewhere...you know...Big Lots.
Do I have one of them?? I'll have to look. I think I only bought a spare tire brush and wheel face brush when they had them at Big Lots, and maybe that awful barrel brush, with the tip that would come off, I poked something with that when the tip fell off and I didn't realize it. I mean it wasn't really awful, just wound up being nerve-wracking compared to a wheel woolie...not to mention the splatter.I think I picked up like 10 of the yellow/black leather brushes when Big Lots had them for $1.
I had that exact same thing happen, but I poked a brake calliper with it, luckily it was bare metal, I would have been dirty if it scratched a painted one.that awful barrel brush, with the tip that would come off, I poked something with that when the tip fell off and I didn't realize it. Yes, Long Haul! Looking back at it,. detailing products for truckers??? Like the only group that keeps dirtier vehicles than soccer moms????Long Haul. The bug and tar remover was very good, for a non-solvent product, I still have some of it, and the QD, I think.

I have that same brush and used to have the long handled one that matches it but it went the same place my original PC 7424 went, which is apparently where socks lost in the dryer go...I have one of these Mothers brushes with flagged fibers. They have been selling this for as long as I can remember. It is listed as a wheel and fender brush but too soft and too big to me for that purpose. I have tried all sorts of brushes but always end up using microfiber on wheel faces and a Daytona brush for barrels.

Are those with the flat blade or are they round?I have that same brush and used to have the long handled one that matches it but it went the same place my original PC 7424 went, which is apparently where socks lost in the dryer go...
The long handled brush I bought to replace it sucks, the straight handle with the rounded grip spins in your hand and is almost worthless for wheelwells
The short handled blue brush is a very good and safe wheel face brush for non painted wheels
I actually use the short red one for mats and bumper cladding and such
I love my microfiber "woolies"

The one on the right has a flat blade and the one on the left is rounded and together they really work well in almost every wheel designAre those with the flat blade or are they round?

Our local Pay n Sprays have a sign telling people to not use the brush to sweep down the bays after washingJust like the one hanging on the wall at the Pay 'n Spray, perfectly safe!![]()
I saw someone picking up the foam off the ground with the brush so they didn't have to put another dollar in, and it was a brand new black Mazda, I could tell because it only had the dealer temp plate hanging on the back. Our local Pay n Sprays have a sign telling people to not use the brush to sweep down the bays after washing
