I see older people in Lexus, caddy's and full size SUV's delivering papers. Times are tough. I was looking for a side gig. Nothing is out there. I shouldn't have given up the bartending a year ago. $500-1000 cash for 2 days of work was nice. But, it is nice to finally have weekends off after 4 years. Maybe I'll go back. I miss the cougars

I will keep you in my prayers to find work ... I hate to be the bearer of bad news but just wait to see the layoffs coming early next year. Alot of companies are closing 100+ locations and companies like DHL are closing for good.
It was proven in the Great Depression, in order to rebuild an economy you must add jobs. We need to understand this and use money wisely to create new and permanent employment and give tax breaks only to those companies that hire locally and built a workforce within the country.

canada isnt in any better shape.. though im a luck one...detailed on the side to see if it was something that i really would like to do for a living ,found out yes lol. opening a shop in march, layed off from the factory. Deliver pizza friday and sat night, work at a call centre (yes it sucks ) pays bills and turned down a ups type job because i couldnt afford the truck and extra insurance payment. so hang in there Trhland something will pop up.....Happy Holidays everyone

No need to worry, good things are ahead. Its called income redistribution:righton:, I can't wait.
This will only cause more people to work less knowing that the Gov will take care of them....so why work?
If people have the thought that Obama is going to provide health coverage then everyone will start canceling their policies which will cause big layoffs from insurance companies and those companies will soon dry up and wither away. Even if child care is provided freely this will kill the child care business, cause big time layoffs, companies going under and harder economic times, not better.
Then of course you could be stating that sarcasticly.
Me, sarcasticly? No way, that's what I heard during the election. I didn't make it up. That came from their mouth. I worked at a state prison long enough to retire from the hell hole at a early age. Put up with alot of #"%. In fact I even had it thrown at me. But anyway, I understand what you're saying and agree 100%. Anyone that uses BS like that to be elected wants YOU to depend on the goverment. Everything free. Guess what, he won and I want my check. (I'm being sarcasticly sick) Only want what I was told I would get. Nothing more.
as some of you know i own my own company.landscaping .for 10 years and useally i take winters off and start up in the spring time .. but do to the cost of living these days its just not possible so i figured ill have to look for a winter job.. easy right? well nooooo.. applyed over 20 applications sears /ups/ lowes ect.. even though these only pay very little i figure ill do what i can do to support my family every little helps.. so far nothing every job i go to theres tons of poeple there looking for the same jobman i cant even get a 7 dollor an hour job?
Hi, sorry, I'm very new here so I don't know where you live or what the climate's like. I live in Ottawa Canada, snow is big-time business here n the winter. Just about every landscape business I see does snow removal in the winter. I'm sure you already have some big equipment and trucks for your landscaping, is it possible to attach a blower or plow to any of them? This is a big, profitable business here, I myself have a snow removal contract to clear my driveway.
The guy I use employs three guys in addition to himself that all clear snow on contracts. If you can get into a densely populated neighbourhood, you can literally clear driveways up and down the street without driving more than a few miles.
Just a suggestion, hope it gets better for you. Don't get down, the times are tough, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to take care of your family during down times.

When it costs 27k a year on average to make sure your 2 kids are cared for it's not wonder the economy is where it is, although you can probably say that about many services.
