How fast to do passes with Flex?

I have not used my Flex with M105 yet. I used it with a UDM 1.0. M105 would start to dry on the 3rd pass.
Hi Al, the sheet that you sent with the105 said to prime with M34, have you tried that?

Yes I did prime.... Could overpriming cause my short flash time ? Hows your detailing environment there z7 ? Mine is hot and humid (singapore) wonder if it's a factor

When did you buy your 105 ? There is now a DA version that is a lot wetter and it has a longer worktime.

I was able to easily do 5 pass's with it. I pretty much followed the (DA) instructions on the back of the bottle. 2/3 pass's with pressure, than 2 with less pressure.

I did prime the pad by rubbing a (very) light layer equally across the face of the pad. The info I found online said not to prime the pad with water or a QD.

I bought 6.5 inch Hydro-Tech pads with my Flex. I was happy with the Cyan for cutting until I tried the Sur-Bufs. I think the Sur-Bufs cut faster than the Cyan and they are cheaper also. I haven't had an issue with either one as far as durability.

I agree the surbuf pads cut more but the cyan pads finish down better. I reserve them mainly for one step polish jobs.

I am looking to get some Hydro tech pads for my Flex.

I also prefer one step polish's when I can as well.

Do you think I will be able to finish down to a really nice finish with the cyan pad ? or will I need the tangerine pad ?

I will be using Menzerna powerfinish.

let me know if you have any insight on that polish/pad combo's finishing result.

TIA
