Foam Application Pads: Favorites??

I dropped three foam pads on Sunday and now I'm down to one small yellow foam application pad (I think Pinnacle), one Megs yellow foam application pad and one Wolfgang orange foam application pad. I have been experimenting with lots of new products and I need to order some more application pads for general use now.

What are your favorite foam applicator pads? I need pads for:
1) wax and sealant application
2) various interior and exterior dressings
3) various polishes
4) various cleaners
5) would love a great recommendation on a tire dressing applicator

I do apply sealants with a PCXP and can apply wax with the DA too. I do use foam paint brushes to apply some dressings.

I don't need a $50 left handed smoke sifter to apply an ultra thin, single molecule cross linked wax coating when a $1 foam pad and a little experience will do.

I actually use these pads from Harbor Freight tools for applying tire protectant and have actually used them on finely polished black paint to apply waxes and sealants and they do not mar the paint in the least bit.

8 in a pack for $2.99 I'll keep on buying them. They are cheap enough to use once or twice and throw out.

Nice Reco TD. I had not thought about staining pads for tire gels.

What's your fav foam applicator pad?

The CCS red pads??

Have you guys seen the laser cut red foam pads from CG? I just have a hard time spending $2 for a dispo foam pad when I can get small yellows for around $1.

What I also don't know is if the foam is different between the yellow pads out there.

I've tried them. I like the pinnacle ones better. Yes, the CG red foam is different, didn't like it as much.

Maybe I need to beg Meghan for a Bogo on yellow foam pads? I've tried so many new products recently that I burned through my stash.

Have you used the green foam finger pockets?
 
I have been thinking about this the last couple of days. I recently ordered some 4" hydro crimson pads for applying wax and sealer, but I want something cheap and safe for everything else. I'm thinking of buying a grout sponge from the home depot and cutting it into smaller pieces to use for trim or any application I may need. Just a thought.

The cheapie 1" foam paint brushes are awesome for "painting" dressings on exterior trim too.
 
I too need to try more pads but I mostly use the yellow foam pads for wax/sealant/ultima interior guard/tire and trim guard and microfiber pads for tire dressings. I haven't been to Harbor Freight for a long time but now it looks like I need to go back! Good find!

I've actually been thinking about picking up the AutoGlym Perfect Palm applicator, but I can't see paying that much for a foam applicator. They are around $10 each.

My favorites are the meguiars ones. I get mine from a local Mirror Glaze and they are only $1.25 each. I like them much better than the pinnacle ones, they are thicker and a bit larger which helps because I have big hands. My hands cramp up with the small pads.

Get em while theyre hot!!! Walmart had them for $5 right now to get rid of them like they did HD. I bought a couple but haven't used them yet.

I plan to use them for hand polishing. From what I gather from the feel, they will distribute pressure very evenly.

Thanks for the tip in the pads Tuscarora Dave, I need to get over their-that's a heck of a deal!
 
I use the Wolfgang pads. Pretty sure they are the same as LC double sided I think. Love them-you can polish k. One side and apply wax with the other. They are very stiff so they don't allow your fingers to press through and distribute the pressure better than any other applicator I have used. They are a little expensive but they are nice to have.

Yellow Pinnacles or something like them seem to be the way to go.

I do like the slightly larger Meguiars pads too, but the smaller Pinnacles are sometimes better for tight spaces and the foam seems to be a little different. Maybe I need a few of each.

I've been wondering about MF gloves as well. Griot's has a lambswool 4 finger mitt that looks pretty cool too. The BBS BMW wheels can be such a PITA to maintain.
