Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel vs. Optimum Power Clean *PICS*

Other than you doing a lousy job on cleaning the vent:D I don't know? The lighting looks different. What was your initial process with OPC again? I'd re-scrub the entire area with OPC to make sure everything looks even.

LOL!! This is a beater "test" car, no need to clean the vent.

The lighting is definitely different. It's raining. I'll re-scrub the area when the sun comes out(when I initially did the test)

Interesting! I wonder of OPC has some brighteners in it? Did you rinse the produt OFF well the first time?
Interesting find everyone! I decided to go give the ultima another good scrub to see if I could get it closer to the OPC side. I didn't tape anything off, so I naturally scrubbed the OPC side as well. To my surprise, UISG DARKENED the OPC side. The UISG side looks to be clean, just darker! I don't get it????

I'd like to add, the green Meguiar's cleaner mentioned in this thread dried out my Recaros @ the suggested dilution. It also cracked my hands after 2 consecutive days of use.

I have quite a few Meguiar's products I like, but this particular one (green APC) warrants caution (even @ suggested dilutions) on interior surfaces.

UISG(left) OPC @ 3:1(right)

Both sides were scrubbed with a leather and vinyl brush for 15 seconds.

Not a huge difference, but OPC noticeably cleaned better @ 3:1.

is that a pillow on your bed?-if so you have gone to far

Hello, Mark. I did a search under Ultima and came across your thread. I'm actually on the Market for UISG and wanted to see some reviews on it. In my observations for both your dash and sofa, OPC side looks cleaner due to the material being dried out a bit. I ran across the same problem while using PB APC 10:1 instead of 15:1 on my dash and leather seats. Once I applied leather conditioner, it immediately soaked into the leather and looked dry once again. I had to apply 2 more coats to get it looking fresh. A few months later I used BF Interior Cleaner on my seats and dash and it definitely didn't do the same and cleaned just as well as the APC.

Having said that, I always look forward to your reviews and thank you for taking your time in doing them. I'm also a huge fan of OPC and use it as much as my PB APC.

Thanks for the compliment. When I used BF interior cleaner a few days ago on grey leather seats, my leather brush looked noticeably grey. Definitely removed the color. When I used OPC @ 3:1 on the same seat, there was a tiny bit of grey on my brush, if any. I was very surprised BF was so harsh!

I noticed very minor color transfer on my towel too when using it but thought it was normal since the APC did the same. That's one of the reasons why I want to try Ultima.

just wondering how opc cut at 3 to 1 would be compared to aro for tires and wheels? i got a gallon of aro last year for 25 $ just for tires and wheels and to me that still pricey

I have the same issue. I use ARO for tires, some wheels, and some engine bays. On the other hand, I have a sprayer with OPC at 4:1 which I also use for all of the above.

ARO makes for a nice clean tire and I think it is best for that use. OPC works almost as well and is peerless for interiors, especially leather. Given the versatility of OPC, I think the advantage goes to Optimum. Pricey but well worth it.
