I am thinking about trying out the new system, has anyone used it with different polishes or waxes? Can you use these pads with menzerna polishes or an AIO? Or do you have to stick with Meguiars 2 step system?

Do you plan on useing a Flex3401 or another DA?

I am going to use my PCXP

Now I do not have the MF DA system nor have I used it BUT, I would question using another polish with the system only because of all the reviews praising its correcting/polishing abilities. If you wanted to jewel with Menzerna PO85rd, I would just slap a black/grey pad and Jewel that puppy down!! lol :xyxthumbs:oh ya IMO..

I have used it with other compounds and polishes. I found it worked great. I usually just use the D300 though. For finishing I occasionally use a different finishing polish. It depends what I want to do for an LSP.

Have you used the finish pad to apply a different LSP?

Can you jewel the paint using the finishing disc and 85rd? Can you get rid of foam pads with this system?

The only LSP I would apply with this is an AIO style product. What I do sometimes is use the D300 on a cutting pad, follow it up with Mothers Foam Pad Polish or Machine Glaze on the finishing pad then use a grato, red or blue pad to apply different a different LSP. Sometimes I do not want to use the D301 as an LSP.

Honestly I have not tried. I do my jeweling with a rotary. As for getting rid of foam, I will never get rid of foam.

I went to their class at DF and meguiars hasn't approved other products to work with it. In other words, you try it on your own and see at your own risk. But, Joe Fernandez said he's used M105 on the cutting pad with good success.

I found D300 & PFW to cut as well as M105 on MF without the splatter, dusting and more difficult wipeoff of M105. The D300's clean and easy wipeoff is a bonus, IMO.

I don't know if I would use 85rd with the MF Finishing Disc to jewel the paint. I would leave that to foam.

I have tried the pads with D151 with good results though.

^^^^^ Seems to make 151 which already is a good product even better . Nice review Shawn.

After seeing those results, I'm definitely going to try D151 w/ the MF finishing pad. Already got the D151, just waiting on the microfiber pads to get to my house :xyxthumbs:

question for you guys, whats a good brush to use to keep the pads "fresh" during a session?

Personally I prefer a bug sponge. I have one of the orange brushes and it works great, but the bug sponge just works better for me. More surface area.

is that system idiot proof ? I'm thinking about expending and getting 1 employee ( well... my little brother haha), I don't want to give him a rotary yet, but would buying a PC works great for him? hologram-free? how long does it takes to do one car? same as a rotary on orange pad and SSR2 ?

Question 1, walking out to the car isn't idiot proof, but the Meg's system is close if you watch the videos
2.the pc works great with this system
3.if he uses the whole system on most paint systems yes it will be hologram free
4. About 4-5 hrs is what I'm averaging using the compound and something to finish
5. Total time spent when you calculate every aspect of a rotary job vs this system in most cases I'd get better results faster with the da

I've used M105 and M205 with the MF pads with good results, but for the best possible final finishing, I would stick to foam pads and dedicated finishing polish like M205, 106fa, and PO85RD....especially on soft paints. If you just looking for a quick AIO finishing step D301 is great on most paints.

For finishing it think it's more about the MF material then the polish itself.

how many people have used this microfiber system? I have heard some people say that the pads get hot and can cause more harm than good. My car, as we can guess by just being on this forum, is maintained pretty regularly. I just want to give it the best care. Currently I have Pinnacle #2, the finishing glaze, DP Max Wax, and klasse AIO and sealant. I have a ton of orange ccs pads, white foam pad, and a grey ccs pad. Oh yeh, I have the PC 7424xp. Any suggestions??

Speed setting are very important with this system . Also the correct backing plate is needed . From what i have read and also starting using the system you can over heat a pad if not careful . Also the car i was trying it on yesterday i did notice some heat build up on the hood but nothing to severe .
