Black CTS-V, heavy paint correction and Opti-Guard coating

Great work Rasky! Just out of curiosity how long did this take you? If it didnt take you very long just lie to me so I feel better about myself and how fast or should I say slow I move :props:

Meh.

Liked the new hard edge design when Caddy came out with it but now..meh.

I love the CTS wagon tho, Sedan/Coupe is just meh. Especially the odd shaped coupe.

Understood

Have a friend who bought the high performance CTS. 6 weeks later he traded it in. I was like WTF. The car was bad ass IMO. He thought diffrentally. His money won over my opinion

What size is that tape? Is it 1/4" or 1/8"?
Your picture has me considering picking some up

Beautiful work on a sexy car. My fiancee was looking over my shoulder and commented how bad it looked before and how nice after.

Nice work! That did finish down real nice with the MF pads. I may have to purchase me some of those! lol

Great correction detailing Rasky. :xyxthumbs:

Nice work as usual Rasky! I love the CTS-V's, wish I could afford one...

Not to hi-jack the thread, but I was finishing up detailing the gf's black Sonata last night and applying CQuartz to it for my first time, I used the MF cutting pads with the correction compound and it removed most all of the scratches, but left a hazy finish, I followed that up with 106fa on the MF finishing pad, and a nice improvement, looked pretty good under the halogens. I wanted to see if I got better results from finishing foam and 85RD and wow, it took it to another level!

Just curious on OEM blacks, if you are able to get flawless finishes with the MF system, or is it my technique?

Again, sorry to go off topic, and your work is always great to look at!

Great work once again, Chad!

Thanks! :)

While I don't like the CTS, your work is amazing!

+1

Thank you!

CTS-V is a whole different animal though! :props:

Nice work. Might have to try Opti-Guard soon.

Thanks Andy

Way too long! I did the interior and motor too but they were pretty clean and I didn't take pics. I'd say about 22-24hrs ;)

That's 1/4" but I have 1/8" as well.

It really comes down to the paint. Some will finish close to LSP ready and some will leave more of a haze. It is very technique dependent though. M105/MF finished down very well on this car but there was still a very light haze. If I deviated from my technique at all I had a completely different outcome with it. Play around with your arm speed, pressure, and the amount of product used. I find I have better results with less product and smaller work areas and don't under work it.

nice job chad.

Thank you!

That 3M fine line tape looks awful handy. I may have to pick some up.

Hey everyone,

This is my CTS-V. The work Rasky did is absolutely fantastic, as it was with my last V that he did. He has me a little terrified to touch it since it looks so great!

:urtheman:

Thanks again for everything!

Thanks Kronos. The fine line tape is a joy to work with when compared to the normal tape. It bends around curves very well and adhesive doesn't pull away from it like normal masking tape when you buff over it either.
