What electric pressure washer do you use?

Do you use this model? I have used Karcher pressure washers for 5 years and I end up replacing them once or twice a year. This one however looks beefed up.
I’m also thinking it’s because I bought the $100 dollar Karcher washers that weren’t made to work every day.

Im debating whether to try the greenworks or stick to Karcher...hmmmm
Yes, I use this one. I talked to a pressure washer "expert" at pressurewashersdirect.com and he openly admitted the older karchers had a lot of problems. However, he said the new X series come with an awesome motor and really good pumps. He said they're much better quality now and recommended it to me over any other model in that price range. I like it so far!

From what I can read, they still have plastic fittings where hose attaches but would like confirmation from someone who has one, etc. so attachments are more prone to break/leak.

The hose attaches to a quick connect which is plastic, and the quick connect screws onto a hard plastic fitting. I bought a brass quick connect to replace the stock plastic one. $9, no big deal. The internals of the new X series have been heavily upgraded from the older models and they're better than all other companies in it's price range, IMO.

I have been looking but will wait until more reports on the Karcher. The K5 series had the upgraded pump even before the X series but the failures in Karchers had been hoses, fittings, etc. from the well known pw site and early life issues. The real gripe I read is that unless you get it at a place like Costco if it fails on arrival you get a refurbished (not new) on.

I used my in law's karcher but had to repair a broken plastic water elbow. I liked the performance for basic work (sidewalks, decks, etc).

On paper it has the spec's against the competition but even the $180 unit at lowe's has a metal hose attachment.

Do the K5 series have the new water cooled motor? After 30 days you will get a refurbished one. If mine fails, I'm covered with parts for a year, there's really no need to get a whole new unit anyway. I didn't want a universal motor or crappy pumps. I wanted an induction motor. Lowes, HD, all come with universal motors.

Edit: I just read the lowe's unit has an induction motor. Very cool.

That is really good to know. I really like Karchers when they work. If they make a durable model I will be all in. Think I might give this one a try

How would I get a M22 fitting on the end of the wand on a karcher like that?

Cliff Note Version: My Karcher electric died, is it worth it to get it fixed?

Well, my Karcher electric that I bought a few years ago at Home Depot or Lowe's died the other week. The motor just doesn't run, I was using it and I moved it to a different outlet, and it wouldn't start back up. It's possible that the way I had it hooked up I restricted the water flow which might be related to the failure. It actually lasted longer than I thought it would, I figured after the first year when I used it a couple of times, the next year it wouldn't work, but I think I've had it for 4 or 5 years now.

Anyway, I was going to run down and try one of those Greenworks at Lowe's, but I do have a couple of Karcher service centers that are maybe a half-hour away...anybody have any idea how much it might cost to get it fixed? I'm figuring it's going to cost $100 and two trips to the service center, which is further than Lowe's and likely has less convenient hours, vs. one trip and $179 for a new one.

Mark, How is the k3.740 holding up? Im local to pressure washers direct, very local about a 4 min drive. Ive been torn on all the reviews over the past month on which to buy and that one seems to be the safe bet for a good electric. I thought about gas but since i wash the clients cars inside in the winter thats a no go unless i want to be deaf lol.

The Greenworks pw seems like a good option as well but the reviews are hit or miss. My friend at lowes is now telling me they got so many back that they wont take a return even in the 90 day period. So if its a dud out of the box i got to pay to ship it in sounds like some bulls*&! to me.

I just bought this one today @ Lowes with their foam gun. $169.00. It had 33 reviews and most of them were positive. I will be trying out tonight.

OK, I just bought this Greenworks unit at Lowes. But when you say "their foam gun", what exactly are your referring to? The spray handle that came with it? A nozzle attachment? Are you just dumping the car soap in one of the two soap chambers it has?

Any guidance?

This is a continuation of my earlier post.

My Karcher failed last weekend. I took it back to Costco and got a refund, went right over to the tool aisle and bought a Snap On pressure washer. This the fifth electric washer I have had. They all seem to be a Karcher type design and they have all had exactly the same failure. After about twenty hours of use they develop a leak inside the pump housing. This causes the motor to cycle on and off about every three seconds during the time the handle valve is off. The washer works normally while on. I attempted to get the very first one repaired and the repair cost was higher than buying a new one.

So every washer since then has been purchased at Costco. With their lifetime warranty I just buy another to replace the previous leaking one. But you must save the box and all packing along with the receipt so you can return it.

However, my gasoline powered Karcher has been working perfectly for five years and still looks and runs like brand new. The failure point appears to exist on the electric models only.

Karcher electric, which I've had for a month and the on/off switch is already acting up!
