I feel the LC orange pad doesn't have...

Great 50/50 shots Rasky. :props:

I got a few yellow flats and surbuf pads if the orange didn't have enough cut.

To be fare though, those 50/50 pics are old and MF pads have all but replaced my my orange now. If I need a light foam cutting pad I've been using the Cyan LC.

So the MF system really that good? I might have to give it a try.

So I can use the MF pads from the Megs DA MF system with the m105???? I just tried the m105 with an orange pad and was not impressed (don't own any yellows yet). I switched back to the Megs DA MF system. I might have to try the m105, but will that make that pad no longer good with the 300???

For the most part I think they have plenty of cut

I've achieved some very nice results with orange LC and M105 on a PCXP...technique plays a huge role though (KBM).
Do you throw the KBM out the window when using the Flex 3401? That's what I thought...

Agree 100% that the orange pad (especially the CCS) have just a little cut. It's what I mainly bought and now I am wishing that I had bought more yellow pads. However, I will state that the strongest compound that I have used is ULtimate Compound. I have the Griot's DA orbital.

I found the Flex wanted to wander under heavy pressure, so yeah, the KBM method seemed to work better with traditional style DA's......at least for me anyway.

Yes, M105 works very well with the MF pads. If you wash your pads out thoroughly you should be fine using D300 with them too.

SMAT polishes really seem to like pressure and I think those who are not seeing results need to tweak your technique a little. Slow your arm speed down, reduce your work area size, and apply more pressure. While more aggressive pads (such as the yellow LC) may cut more, they also tend to haze the paint, so there is a trade off.

I have also come across some really hard clears where the orange LC simply isn't going to cut it, and a more aggressive pad or tool will be needed in those instances.

As long as you clean the pad after, you can still use the d300.

Thanks, Chad.

I think I'm going to get the MF pads on my next order :xyxthumbs:

Thanks dudes!! I'm gonna try that tomorrow! I always wash my MF pads in the washer when done for the day.

I guess I've been fortunate over the years. Only twice have I had to resort to a yellow pad be it on a Cyclo or a PC. Orange flat pads always did the trick regardless of the brand of polish/compound. There were times when white pads worked well when the work at hand was light weight or had a very soft finish.

I do think that the orange pad have less cut than people make them out to, but I also think they have more cut than the Cyan HT pads that are sold as having more cut than an orange LC.

On a rotary though, the orange pads are great IMO.

Based on my experience I disagree, which is allowed :). Here is one example:

Orange/M105 - notice the marks left behind which were not deep and cleaned up with cyan/m105

Cyan/M105 - the swirls and marring on this panel were worse than the above ^
