I've been using Dawn and CG Citrus Wash to strip LSP's, but I really haven't been to satisfied with either, so I decided to try Griot's Paint Prep. I applied Dodo Supernatural Hybrid just a couple weeks ago. I washed my car today with a pH neutral soap(BTBM), so I could see the true stripping ability of GPP. After rinsing off BTBM, I immediately sprayed the GPP onto each panel and gently worked the product with a LC wash sponge. I did this in the shade on the whole car. I had enough to quickly go around and spray/scrub each panel again. By the time I was done, I figured that was enough dwell time. I rinsed with my pressure washer and it really did a nice job of removing the wax!! The water did not sheet or bead. It definitely did a better job than Dawn and CG CW! I'd recommend GPP! :dblthumb2:

Any need to wash again after using Paint Prep? The more I play with Griot's products the more I like them :). Thanks for the quick review.

:iagree:

No need to re-wash, just rinse. :dblthumb2:

Nice. I've been curious about this and the Pre Wax Cleaner. Have you used their interior cleaner? There's really no scent to it and it doesn't leave anything on the surface. I plan to try Rubber Prep too since I love Rubber Cleaner. Rubber Prep is for the nasty tires.

PM me your address, I'll send you a sample of the Pre-Wax Cleaner and Paint Prep. I like it both! For me, the pre-wax cleaner replaced IPA(all that drama) for inspecting paint.

Never tried the interior cleaner. Can it clean heavily soiled surfaces?

I love their rubber cleaner, too! Let me know how you like rubber prep.

I'm glad I started using Griot's products, they're really impressing me!

That pre wax cleaner is the bomb, you can polish out a car, hit it with that then straight to oc application, a great product I'll be using for a long time!

Yep! No more fuss with IPA! This goes for the pre-wax cleaner as well.

Another one to try. I love the Pre wax cleaner as it has replaced Menz Top Inspection for me.(actually because of ur recomendation Mark:props: ). No IPA for me!

Hmm, may have to try this one too. Is it possible that you could just spray this product on and then wipre it off like a QD, or do the instuctions specifically state to rise all surface afterwards? If so, that'd make it much easier than using an IPA. Since I find myself having to do 3 or 4 IPA wipes at times to completely get all out the oils off to reveal the true finsih under the polish

Sounds like a good product that fitted right into an empty spot in the market.

Thanks for the heads up Mark.

It is just a citrus based cleaner similar to something like Total Auto Wash but I am not sure if it is as concentrated.

The genius was to label it as a pre-wax cleaner.

Ahh that makes sense.

I like them as well.

Ive used their pre-wax cleanser also, used about 1/2 the bottle to do the whole car, and will use the 2nd half this weekend when I do my other.

Ive heard some people say they are overpriced, but man the bottles are huge. Their speed shine is $14 or something but its 34 ounces! I just ordered some more of their stuff, going to try their spray wax after washes, which also comes in a massive bottle.

Ive been using their spray on car wash on my Vette after each drive to get the dirt off the lower panels and the back, and its lasted a pretty long time as well.

The prewax cleaner is spray and wipe . TAW is NOT. Its very important to rinse TAW VERY well.

Maybe you were speaking more specifically of paint prep ??

I think Al is speaking for griots pre wax cleaner because it is citrus based too, while paint prep is not. Still, I think TAW and Griots pre wax cleaner are used quite differently as you state.

I use the Paint Prep all the time, and love it. Gets the job done without a lot of extra work.

Am sold now on the Interior Cleaner as well...yes, there's lots of cleaners out there. A lot of guys seem bent on negative vibs re: Griots...[I was at first--maybe it was the slickness of the ads, not sure] but got onto a few prods and now use most of them and enjoy them. The IC is also the "bomb" agreed...does not leave residue behind, and is safe on the delicate wood trim, and my leather, which is vital on our Bimmers.

Costs? Compare and price per oz. often 35 of them, and if you catch a sale, or free shipping now [from their shop] you get pricing down as low or lower /oz as you would at a Mart usually. Agreed on the Speed Shine as well...good stuff and blings things back on top of wax for good sacrifice barrier. :xyxthumbs:

sounds like a much better way of stripping the current product. thanks for the review. ordered.

I just picked up 2 bottles of this on clearance yesterday at the mall.
