i went to look for them today and for the life of me i couldn't find them :-(

I just found a couple of nice microfibers in Office Depot today. 80/20 blend, rolled edges, 8 for $4. I can't seem to find them on the site, but they were all the way in the back (of this particular store) with office supplies, i.e. cleaning, coffee filters, etc.

I love the Yellow MF's from Costco; you get 30 for $15.99; they are usually right next to the Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo.

yes the cobra guzzler hd is a waffle weeve microfiber with a foam core..heres an image of the guzzler hd

Anybody that really likes these ought to PM me... I've got two I picked up on BOGO when I didn't read the description closely. I thought they were the thinner small Guzzlers. I blow-dry and have little residue to mop up, I barely get a Guzzler damp. I sure have no use for these. Washed once, never used.

Open to trades for thinner WWs or whatever...

Just noticed yesterday - my drying mat is waffle weave. I've been in three Walmarts and that's all they had was the waffle weave style...till yesterday I saw one that wasn't waffle weave jammed into the back of the shelves these are on. It didn't even have the packaging on it. Seems to me that new stock is waffle weave, but I don't know.

Used my 'dishmats' today and they did not work well (the ones I have being the waffle weave looking ones.) I did an ONR wash and the first panel or two it was okay (had to follow it with a 'regular' microfiber towel.) Then after that it was just pushing water around. I did use the bigger microfiber towels that were also mentioned in this thread (the ones that cost $6.xx) and they worked real well (used one to get the bulk of the water, second pass with another one to get it all the way dry.)

I think the ones I got, looking like they had a flat waffle weave surface, are quite different from the ones that the original poster has. And like i said above, the first Walmart I went to only had the waffle weave looking ones...second had the waffle weave looking ones but also one that looked like the original poster has...both were in the same spot and packaged the same way. Id say maybe be careful if all your store has is the waffle weave kind...maybe just buy one and see how it works before you buy multiple. Then again, they're only $4.

CD test - I've questioned the validity of this test before.

I used a brand new CD, looked it over very carefully with my Brinkmann Swirl Finder light, and preceeded to test some of the items that touch the paint during wash/dry. Things tested were the boars hair brush for the paint, boars hair brush for wheels, a big assortment of quality MF towels (plush, supreme, waffle weave), quality wash pads, grout sponges and an absorber.

While a many of these items passed the CD test without the Brinkmann, adding the light showed something interesting to me. Everything was scratching the CD except for the wheel boars hair brush, grout sponge, and absorber.

I've switched to grout sponges for washing, leaf blower drying, and the absorber for blotting. With that said, I still have doubts about how much of what happens to a cd has anything to do with clearcoat.

yes i have seen the WW variation online but not in store, im guessing the WW ones are a different blend of microfiber, i haven't a clue, if i could find the WW ones id give them a test but i will look next time i am at wally...and i really find it weird that some are WW and some are normal microfiber. i know the ones sold at bed bath and beyond are made by same company and are usually the WW ones...ah well try using them for blot drying see how it works.or give them a wash and re try.also read on the forums most waffle weave towels work better as they get used..

I picked one up tonight. Seems like a decent drying towel actually. I won't know until I try it, but I must say from feeling it, I am impressed so far.

Yeah, I have at least 90 of those in one state or another around the garage. Useless as a buffing cloth, they really mar. But terrific for wheels, rockers, under the hood, jambs, and almost every surface in the interior. I use them as my general-purpose shop rags now, way better than the bulk shmatte T-shirt scraps from auto parts stores and PBEs.

This master blaster thingy....Does it remove polishes and waxes too? Sounds cool.

I googled Master Blaster and I won't even tell you some of the obscene and down right nasty things that came up...

Off topic.. You mean these?

I don't know about the alien, but the pair on the right could probably remove polishes and waxes pretty good?

I haven't had a chance to try them yet, but these drying mats seem to hold a ton of water. I washed them and put them through a full drying cycle and they still came out damp.

How are you guys removing the tags? I pulled them off like I do with my other MF towels (from cheap Costco yellows to CG Monsters) and the edging just fell apart.

not a problem posting my finds, as i said i just try to help out the people who cant afford to plop down hundreds of dollars a week at autogeek......

see i knew people would like this find...deffinatly beats the 25$ for the guzzler HD, sure id love these towels to be bigger but with only one needed to dry a normal car its not a big deal, now if some of the top detailers on this forum would give them a shot i bet they would like them also...i dunno why it created such a stir early on glad the tune has changed now that people are buying them and proving how well they work for the cheap price.

Respect for the find. Good job and thank you!

I checked this evening at a supercenter and found the WW flat variation. I'll check another couple places this weekend.

After some searching this past weekend, I found one. Just one though, hanging off of a corner af an aisle near the pots and pans. Was also looking to snatch up some Meg's Gold shampoo for $4 that someone mentioned, but they only seemed to be carrying Meg's Crystal.

I used my Non Guzzler Tory on a SUV and it worked great. .

Sent from my cm_tenderloin using AG Online

Yep. Those are great towels. I have six or so. I use the dish drying mats as well. I use them for dishes. But, I don't think they are any stiffer than WW when they are new.

Anybody use the gray version? I just bought one, I couldn't find the other , maybe this is the new one????
