Awesome, hopefully this will help to inspire you a bitThose turned out AMAZING! Look brand new. I'm working on my own wheel project right now![]()
Honestly you hit it on the head, this detail was more about persistance than anything else.Persistance and dedication to the craft. Inspirational.
Car Pro Tar-X and a lot of scrubbing with a 1'' boars hair brush.great work. if its not a secret, do you mind sharing what product you used? I'm assuming some heavy degreaser of some sort?
Thanks Marc, I would have liked to take some bleeding pics but I don't like to handle my camera when I have Iron-X on my gloves (and I didn't want to remove my gloves because I only had a few of my 8mil long sleeved left).Amazing job Bill!!! Those wheels were just filthy! I can't believe how new it looks. Your work speaks for itself.
I wish there was some bleeding pictures.
I think that is a great idea. The Opti-Coat made them look dripping wet.Instead of getting paid for the work, offer to buy them cheap!Lol, that made sense the when I first thought of it. Awesome turnaround on those neglected rims. It looks like the opticoat smoothed out the texture on the faces, non? It reminds me of the difference between the finish on my wheels and my wife's wheels.
On another forum I was jokingly accused of swapping them out with new rimsmotherofgod! that is like a spanking new rim!
Drew- I hope you have some pictures!Bill,
Beautiful Subie BBS wheels and an awesome job done by you to clean them. I need to do that with my JDM STi V7 gold wheels.
Drew
 My dad had a 320is back in the dayIncredible job Bill :dblthumb2: You are right, they look better than new and will hold up well with the protective coating you applied.
BBS still reigns up there as one of my favorite wheels. Had a set very similar to the ones you restored on a black BMW 320is (that's old people speak :laughing.
Sounds excellentFantastic job Bill. I love those wheels! My buddy has a set on is 02 WRX. I will be cleaning them shortly![]()
Thanks Aaron, and I will probably be making use of your powder coating services in the future. I bet some slightly beat up BBS would be easier to come by.Gorgeous work Bill. I still hope to find a set of those for the Forester at a decent price one day.
Of course color doesn't matter much to me because I will be changing that.![]()
just curious, you guys ever use acid to clean up rims? Usually when we wash trucks, we flash the rims, hit them with acid real quick, then hit them with soap, it takes all of 20 seconds to do and it removes all brake dust and everything else
