Going to take a little work but decent shop.

Thanks Anthony. A lot of good things are coming my way up there. I am so glad to have been able to quit the day job (with ample notice of course) and free up the time to be more successful in my own dealings.

Yeah man - after talking to you I think your plan of attack is great and I think you'll do great man :dblthumb2: - I was going to call you a week or two ago and see how things were going but I didn't save your number properly man (I smart phone stupid lol). Well good to see things coming together!

Is there anything special about those tube lights? In my garage, I have 6 tube light fixtures each holding two bulbs. Even with them all on, they really are not that bright. I can stare at them and my eyes dont hurt lol.

Could I put the ones you used in mine do you think?

The lights I went with are the newer T-8 fixtures. They are thinner bulbs, throw off more light than the older T-12 (which are currently being obsoleted) and they use a little less energy. I think I went with the "Sunlight" bulbs that work best for a garage setting especially with higher ceilings. Nothing special about them otherwise other than the 6 bulb fixtures throw off an extreme amount of light. I'll eventually install a few more of those 6 bulb fixtures in there.

Looking good Dave. I must ask, after all this work, What Does Jack think of all this?

One tiny suggestion, Make some sort of railing around the 'loft'. Wood, steel, even a rope...just something. I'll just say...'speaking from experience' (one I'd rather forget...I'm a klutz at times).

Thanks Bill. I'm ashamed of myself to have to say this but...Jack hasn't seen the shop yet, but she does like the fact that I stop in at the house more often now.

Coming along great, Dave. I like the shelf for your drink cup too.

Looks like you have plenty of 12 inch pegs, if you don't need them all that long, you can always trim them with a bolt cutter or hacksaw.

Thanks, that cup holder was in the scrap wood bin. Wasn't working out in my van but it works well in the shop.

Yeah, the pegs are cool to have. It was really nice of my buddy to just give me 7 sheets of board and all those pegs asking for nothing in return, we do help each other out in a lot of areas though.

Looking good Dave! Everything has a place......now you have inspired me to re-evaluate my shop here at home.

That's coming along really well! If I could find a one bay little shop like that near me...I'd grab it just to setup as a wholesale account location. That's the perfect size, literally. Looking good man! :dblthumb2:

What a great space :)

Just started following this thread and love the progress photos :xyxthumbs:

How's the shop progress Dave?

That area of 83 used to be on my route to/from work.

I have been super busy with detailing and learning new stuff related to some other opportunities that have come up so while the shop is fully functional I still haven't done anything to the office area. I did pick this baby up today though to add to the shop.

Not sure how many inches of lift the vacuum system has but it has a 150psi. solution pump and 10 gallon solution tank and 10 gallon recovery tank. no heat either but for $220 I'm not complaining about not having heated water. I'm sure I could add a water heater to it somehow if I put my mind to it. The guy that sold me this unit has a 200psi. adjustable pressure unit under repair that will be available soon that I'll probably buy for the shop and use this one for my mobile rig.

Looking great man - looks like the shop is turning into a home :dblthumb2: I LOVE the slop sink - one day I will get one my friend - one day! Glad to see the progress man.
The drain line is completely clogged up. Maybe that's why the sink was sitting outside and no longer plumbed in. I'll have to have someone run a power snake down through it because a regular snake didn't work out too well. Oh well.. A bill for another day I guess.

Looking good Dave!

It must be a relief just to get all that stuff out of the house

Get a thin snake( to fit in a cordless drill) cut the side attached to the plastic handle an hook it up to your drill. A power snake:)

Hi guys!! I been so busy at the shop that I really haven't had time to drop by that often. The little 23 gallon oil-less air compressor that was in the shop finally took a crap this past week. I knew it wouldn't last long in a shop setting. I really didn't have the money to buy a really great unit as a replacement for it so I started looking around for a used American made compressor for sale to no avail. To my surprise, my landlord shelled out $2000 and bought me a Quincy (direct competitor to Ingersoll-Rand) 80 gallon 5 H.P. that delivers 17.3 SCFM @ 165 P.S.I. At operating pressure of around 120 P.S.I. that will be around 23 SCFM. I can't wait for this unit to be shipped.:dblthumb2:

Wow what a great landlord. Sounds like this has been a really positive move for you. Congratulations again.

Thanks Dave. You're right in that this has been a positive move for sure. The guy I rent my shop from has really been helping me to succeed. I help him out a lot by being there and he obviously helps me a lot too. I finished plumbing in the air pipes, regulator, water trap, oiler and Parker quick couplings on Friday evening, and wired in the 220 circuit on Saturday morning. This air compressor gives a whole new meaning to clean microfiber cutting discs. I really can't believe how quiet this thing is while it's operating. :xyxthumbs:
