DuraGloss #111 clearcoat polish....thoughts

According to Dr Bill Bailey from Duragloss:

111 = pure sealant rated 1 on cleaning ability
101 = rated about 4-5 on cleaning ability
105 = rated about 9-10 on cleaning ability

Ok, so where's 501 fit in there--off the scale?

Lol. Those guys are losing it. 101 is a much better cleaner than 105. Maybe they mean cut? 105 does feel like it might have a slight bit of cut where 101 is a cleaner only like KAIO.

Over on that other forum we used to go thru this, never the same answer twice, just like Collinite. Or maybe the answers are just too nuanced and subject to interpretation.

I agree som eof this is confusing with numbers and letters, in one sentence it will say use these products with another, then in another it mentions a different system. The same with some of the experts here. Someone will say use a,c and d, And later say x,y and a for the same question. As a novice, it can be confusing, I need a cheat sheet, with the letters and numbers and shortcuts to product names.

This is amazing, everyone has a different opinon. I guess this stuff is subjective. Either that or everyone is guessing. To me all the products looks the same when wipped off the car. May be Mike has an opinon.

Ha, yeah, exact same issue with collinite.

What size bottle did oh get? Must have been really small to only be able to do 3 cars....

I am in Utica, m59 and van dyke and the main cross roads... Are you familiar with the area?

Yeah, I'm very familar with the entire metro Detroit area for sure, your in a good location for sure, lots of traffic, hope your get a percentage of the cars that drive out there!

The bottle I got looks to be about 6 oz's and came with an applicator pad and catalog too, cost me $10.00 but seeing as I've got a small car, I should get about 5-6 applications out of it. Oh yeah, speaking of the product.....

So since I've got Monday's off I decided to drive to the park where there's good shade in the morning and decided to apply this stuff to my car. I get there and wipe down the car with my mix of DP rinseless wash in QD form mixed with Klasse SG, then I'm ready to go. I applied a thin coat to the entire car and let it sit while I cleaned my inside windshield, this way it had time to set up and haze, remember I'm in the shade and its about 82 out with a nice breeze. I take it off, no problem in the removal of the product, came off great w/o any dusting at all! Now the car did look good but whereas when I use Black Fire wet diamond or Zaino Z-5 and it just POPS, even with as many layers as I've got on the car right now, the DG clearcoat polish didn't exactly do that for me really. I mean it didn't dull the paint or anything but I thought I'd be as "WOW'd" as I was when using BFWD, Z-5 pro or Klasse SG. So when I got home I parked the car in the lot and it was out of the shade and into the sun, it did look good for sure, even a bit more so but I then grabbed my trusty bottle of DG Aqua Wax (#951) and sprayed the car down and BAAAAAAAAAM!, metallic was poppin' out and floating around like it should be. Not sure what the hell is in the bottle of Aqua Wax but that stuff does the trick, periodIm the MAN

I'm not sayin' that the #111 DG clearcoat polish isn't good, I'm give it another try for sure and will even use it on upcoming cars like my g/f's cranberry Mazda 6 as well as my buddy's wifes Scion xB in that limited edition color called "Gold Rush" and then I'll report back. It could very well be the fact that Black Fire has raised the bar very high for me, BFWD is slightly better than even Z-5 pro and for me, that's saying something but either way, another review by myself will be coming sometime in the future, so when I use #111 once again, I'll post in here and will include pics too!

More input is highly appreciated too, thank you:xyxthumbs:

Well I'm so impressed with this product that my bottle is almost used up and I was going to wait till I needed to put in a large order and get the gallon of it, which I'll do, but it looks like its back to CarQuest in the next week or so for another bottle. Thanks to those whom informed us of this product being available there. AG will still get my business when I do a "bulk buy" and I will be getting a gallon of this stuff, along with other products. My g/f is already talking about Christmas (while we just out of 3 days in a row of 100+ temps) and I told her this, just get cash from everyone and buy me an AG gift certificate, how can you go wrong!

 how many applications did you get out of that 6(8?) oz. bottle?

Opps, I guess I got to talking about 2 different DG products here, I have plenty of #111 left, I'm talking about their AquaWax #951, what's the deal with all the numbers and how do they come up with them:eek:

For some reason, I have found that the looks of DG 111 enhance over a 24hr period...

AW is a great offering and what I would have suggested after letting the 111 sit on the paint for 24hrs BUT either way you got there!

Thanks!nI am very fortunate.. I do this on the side and am as busy as I want to be at any given time...

I think your right about the #111 needing time to look better, my buddy Derek says the same thing about AquaWax, maybe its a DuraGloss thing, LOL!

I agree about AW but it doesn't seem to take as long as DG #111 does though, ofcoarse that's probably because one is a liquid and the other is an actual product you've gotta wipe on and wipe off. When I used DG #111 the first time I applied over the entire car, let it sit while I did something else and wiped it off, so I'd say it sat on the car for about 15 minutes, that's long enough, right?

Now as far as Zaino goes, well, I noticed the difference right away but after trying Black Fire WD and CS, I see no need to go back and re-order any Zaino. Thought about trying the Z-8 from Zaino, but after trying AW, well, so much for that!

Is it the 111 that seems to be just like Zaino Z-2? I just tried DG105 for the first time and it's not even close to Z-2. The 105 was much harder to apply and remove. Z-2 goes on like butter! A lot more elbow grease but the 105 looks fantastic.

I haven't used Z2 so I can't speak on terms of application and removal. In my opinion DG 105 is easier to use than DG 111. Maybe a different solvent was used to make Z2 easier to apply/remove?

111 is the closest thing to the old Z2. It goes on much like the current Z2, just does not have the clear glassy look Z2 now has. DG105 has cleaners and some sort of filler in it. I agree, its a bit harder to apply, but not a big deal.
