DR. Ghodoussi where's the beef ?

2011 VW Jetta Candy White, touched up chip, polished for even surface, reapplied Opt-Coat. Works just fine and you can not see overlap traces.
It looks like the first day you installed the Opt-Coat.

OK, so the new version has changed the game...that's great! Now, you mention layered within the cure period. I'm talking about fixing chips maybe months after the application. I was under the impression that once it fully hardened (used to be a week, no? What is it now?) that you had to compound it to remove it in order to effect a chip repair. Please correct me if I am wrong, I want to know exactly. Thanks.

Full hardness happens somewhere in the 30-90 day range. I know that's not very specific, but there are lots of variables. DG is right, you can just tape off an area to repair and even if you saw the tapeline after (usually don't), you can lightly polish to blend.

Me too. No need to re do the whole panel.

Thanks for the info. Now I'm kicking myself I didn't use OG on the Lincoln!!

Maybe I've been lucky but I have yet to need to polish to blend but good to know in case I ever need to... I love optimum products!

No kidding? That's why I haven't ordered much OG from you because I had a tough time selling the coating based on the process of fixing rock chips. I'm glad I caught this thread! Thanks Chris!
