First REAL storm of the year, round #1, about 6". I had to shovel the front and our approach sidewalk, heavy snow as it's 34F. Round #2, which will add a foot comes this evening into Saturday morning, glad I'm not out of shape at almost 54 yrs old

Well I did use a shovel for the sidewalk, the car my snow brush but only the windows, for the hood I used my bare hands. Since it's above freezing, combined with my Gyeon Pure EVO and "boosts", large sections of snow just slid off

may be time to invest in a cordless blower...

Plow truck showed up again, so moved the EN and the Cruze out of the way so he could clear our parking lot well

Earlier in the day my daughter and I walked to the park so she could play in the snow...before 3 days of single digit highs and sub-zero lows roll in 🧊

Going on almost a week since the EN's last wash...THIS is where a quality coating comes into play AND a higher pH pre-wash snow foam like Bilt-Hamber Touchless or Auto-foam, also Pure:est alkaline snow foam and you better believe it'd loaded and ready to go (6 oz Pure:est alkaline snow foam-1 gallon distilled)

Early next week it's going to rain and be in the mid to upper 30's, touching 40, so it's going to get VERY messy but atleast the thaw/road washing will start...stay "tuned"

That Hyundai XG300L...THAT'S what happens when you don't stay ontop of your car, plus the cheaper Korean steel

I'm sure Hyundai would take umbrage with that statement, since they make their own steel, but for your sake, I hope Hyundai has learned something about rust belt salt and corrosion in the 2 decades since that XG was made, because as I mentioned in this thread or another, they sure didn't in the first decade, because they were still making cars that couldn't stand up to it 10-12 years ago.

I was just reading a story about this yesterday, this is in Australia, so it's not a winter salt based issue. Seems to be affecting white painted cars. Given the target market for this type of vehicle, you can bet they weren't washed much, or protected in any serious way.

There is something about white cars that do that because it's not just Hyundai.

Yeah, over here I know about white Toyotas, blue Fords, green Mazdas, and just about anything in red. But it's almost always cars that have lived out in the elements their whole life.

Well, I mean over here this happens to a lot of white cars where large sections of paint end up missing.

Yeah, but that car with the paint peeling is a paint issue--that XG has structural issues, over the wheel arch that's coming from inside, just like the trunk lid is rusting out from the inside, as is the door. These vehicles also had subframe issues, as did other Hyundai models a decade later. Wasn't it Pouncing Panzer talking about this? That he was a tech? Hyundai had huge recalls here to replace rotten engine cradles in those early 2000's cars, and a decade later they were recalling early 2010's vehicles to rustproof the cradles and drill drain holes in them.

It’s a known defect on Toyotas which the addressed to some extent (certain whites have a 14 year warranty instead of 4).

There’s a class action being started on Hyundai’s white and Pearl white paint on 4 models.

There’s 2 2017 or newer white elantras in my neighborhood with the paint peeling.

The info I pulled up was from Canada but I feel will reach here soon

Saw this while walking my dogs tonight, funny thing is, earlier in the day I was sure something interesting went by on the back of a truck, I caught a flash of blue in my peripheral vision, but didn't turn around quick enough to catch what it was. I guess he's still got to make enough room in his garage for it.
