Marilyn's new pipes...

lol

Well, if you're not quite ready for a blower, how about the Boss intake with some custom tuning?

I think boss intake you lose torque down low but gain hp up high... I for one am loving the torque :) as far as tuning, not yet.... Warranty void.

Headers, X-pipe and cams come to mind, and depending how crazy you are going to get with the supercharger and which one it is, maybe start shopping for the supporting fuel system mods... injectors, boost-a-pump, fuel rails, etc...

X pipe loses the muscle rumble eh?

How about turning it into a hovercraft?

I must say I am very envious of those who have the ability to tinker with their cars and turn them into unique and personalized modes of transportation.

I cant wait til my kids are on their own and I have time and funds to have a car to play with! My wife won't sign off on modding my daily driver with an 8 week old daughter while renting a home lol!

Lol... I understand... Priorities. I gave up my toy car for my wife 6 years ago. I regretted it. Now she let me get toys again so I am happy.

Yes, you lose a little torque down low but its made up for in the mid to high range. Depending on who does the tuning too, the torque loss can be barely noticeable.

The whole warranty void from tuning is kind of a myth. They actually have to prove that the tunes caused the failure. Of course that won't stop some dealers from fighting you to the death over it. Always best to ask your dealer first.

I guess I would just start saving for the blower and supporting mods then.

My GT brotha!!:dblthumb2:

I've tried 4 exhausts on my '12!

GT500's, Kook's, Roush, and the Flowmaster Outlaw.

In short:

GT500's- very nice tone, but definitely too quiet!

Kook's- excellent tone, deeper than the GT500's, and somewhat louder.

Roush- Horrible raspy, trumpet/fart pipe sound at WOT(especially in 1st gear). Very loud WOT. Sounds great under 3.5K RPM's.

Outlaw- Same as Roush, just not quite a raspy at WOT, but still sounds like sh*t!

My favorite outta the 4 has been the Kook's. Just wish it was a tad bit louder.

Glad you're liking the S-type! :dblthumb2:

In case you're wondering, my mods are as follows:

Eibach Sportline Springs, Koni STR.T Dampers, GT500 Strut Mounts, J&M Adjustable Panhard Bar, FRPP 3.73's, Barton Shifter, Barton Shift Bracket, Flowmaster Outlaw Axleback(might be changed), LMR Shorty Antenna, 20" Gloss Gunmetal Forgestar F14's(on order).

Yes sir. I think my next might be tune if I ever muster the kohones for it. Then 6k for a blower bolt on. Ugh.... If only I were rich. Lol

Yep, it's me...lol! I returned the Camaro under the Chevy "love it or return it" promotion. What a fat, bloated pig that car was! I'm really liking my 5.0! A LOT better than the SS! :cheers;

This is just from my personal experience but longtubes on a n/a modular is an expensive less fruitful mod then alot of them out there...

This is what I have seen myself

X-pipe + CAI = 18rwhp/14rwtq - $600

CAI + Tune = 22rwhp/31rwtq - $739.99

Longtubes = 29.55rwhp/23.85rwtq - $700 + Install

Have an 02 ss camaro with longtubes, and of course longtubes are a preference. IMO, nothing even comes close to sound once headers are on. Yes they're pricey, probably better performance mods out there for power, but nothing is more satisfying than hearing that v8 scream through a full exhaust when you get on it...plus if you install yourself you can save some money ;)

Modulars and pushrod cars are way different animals...

I put longtubes on my 02 GT and while yes they sounded great the HP N/A just wasnt worth the cost of tubes and install...At least with the new edge mustangs you have to drop the k-member to install longtubes which if you pay someone to do it can get pricey...My kooks longtubes and midpipe were $2200 if memory serves me correct and took me 7 hours to install on a lift lol

Yea I hear ya, longtubes are a project, to say the least, on today's cars where everything is shoehorned into the engine bay. It's just weighing the pros and cons, I totally understand where you're coming from

Not sure on longtubes... sounds like this is going "beyond" bolt on :) Heck if I get a supercharger, that in itself will be a bolt on with box tune...

update: drove Marilyn 3rd time now this week... love those Borlas. Meeting some guys for lunch so we can all talk cars. They're all curious to hear the pipes.

I counted my vortech as a bolt-on ;)

My latest pics I took today, just so happens to show those sexy tips. Love me some Borla. I am SO glad I got these puppies. For you avid detailers out there, Marilyn has 3 coats of souveran, after washing and drying with FK425. Prior sealant on there is 4star UPP. I also took a better video showcasing the borla exhaust. That sound is intoxicating.

Pics are regular, non HDR. I didn't bother using my promaster circular polarizing filter.
