Most regretted detailing product purchase

b&s orange and white 5.5" pads.... i thought orange was medium cut and white was polishing but they are as hard as a rock and a pain in the ass to work with. Felt like an idiot ordering 4 of each.

I've got boxes of stuff That I only used once and I regret buying all of them. I'm much more wise in my older age and I have found that I only need 1 compound, 1 finishing polish, 1 AIO, 2 glazes, 1 rinseless wash, 1 conventional wash, and 1 LSP. For weekly maintenance after every wash I use 1 product and have thrown out all detail sprays.

FK 425. Bought a gallon based on reviews and recommendations.

When it worked, it worked great. When it didn't, it streaked badly and it was almost impossible to get the streaks out. It was a crapshoot as to which would happen, and it only ever streaked badly onthe hood (one hint that it was temperature related).

Called the experts here at AG, they suggested using it in a 50% solution, which helped. I think it was a combination of heat, humidity, and really dark blue paint.

Finally used the last of it up. Now am using UWW+ as a cleaner/QD and BF Midnight Sun Instant Detailer. Very happy.

Lexol twins - Left the seats greasy and sticky. Didn't care much for the smell so I never understood what the whole hype was.

Cheap microfibers lol you get what you pay for.

I agree with you on the Lexol. There are so many better products that don't leave the leather sticky feeling and smell much better.

What's wrong with the Pinnacle?

Where do I begin? The price, the durability, or the looks? It looks no better than your average wax. It is as durable as a wet paper towel. The price is also too high.

I hated the Lexol too, until I buffed it down again after it sat a while. Then all the greasiness went away and it actually was pretty good. I think it just requires a second buffing. I've moved on though to L1.

i had the pinnacle SSII and didn't care for it thus trading it away...

Agreed, didn't care for the twins either. Replaced with Ultima Interior Shampoo and Pinnacle Leather Conditioner.

LC CCS pads - really not a fan but I love the HT series & the flat white foam.

Hmm well I guess it all depends some leathers have slightly different finishings? I can say for sure on Toyota leather and Subaru leather, even trying to buff it 5 minutes after and then again 1-2 hours after didn't leave the type of smoothness that comes from nicer conditioners like pinnacle or sealants like CTS.

While i'm definitely not saying it's a horrible product, (it certainly does what it's supposed to and what I expected it to), I feel that the hype surrounding this product is significantly more than what the results truly show. After seeing so many thoughts about it everywhere on many forums, I just felt that the product was a bit of a let down after using it first hand.

The Uber Original MF and the Uber Quick Detailer MF towels - wash them a few times and they're toast. Also, they tend to bleed color even after multiple washings. At the risk of sounding like an AG fanboy, the cobra jr gold towels have it all over these - and the uber towels are more expensive.

LOL your "trippin". Its used as a show car wax. You don't buy souveran for durability...i have a black Altima and it looks stupid wet after prepping my paint and comparing it side by side with other waxes. Souveran is too nice, you were probably just expecting too much out of a product

Maybe you should contact the seller. I bought some towels from Detailers Domain and one is falling apart.

I shot them an email and they sent me a tracking number for a new one. Most of these places has good customer service and stand behind their stuff.
