Boy I'm glad I didn't have to look over 38 pages too! :)

Been a while since I looked at this thread in fact. But these two, just can't see where they would get negative reviews.

Megs #7 is an EXCELLENT almost zero cut polish as well as a paint cleaner, and that's before you even start to think of it being a glaze. And THAT is where it REALLY shows it's stuff. :D (Not to mention it's great bringing life back into old factory paint.) :props:

Tar-X; I think guys are so used to something that works hard and fast that they don't appreciate why it was designed the way it is. Getting tar off can be done with sandpaper, yet that doesn't mean you want to use it for that. So far, I've *never* had tar that Tar-X wouldn't safely and gently remove. Heck we just had baked on white road paint that it removed a good 50% of and we were not even trying to remove it. (What I'm saying, is we were not being PAID to remove it, they didn't care one way or another if it was even removed. But figured we'd clean up at least some of it while we were there.) Sprayed some on and let it sit overnight, did that twice, never scraped a bit, and quite a bit of the old highway lines were gone. That's a win-win to me. :dblthumb2:

  1. It's not very effective compared to many other products
  2. It corrodes aluminum terribly
  3. It's smell makes me nauseous
According to The Safe Shopper's Bible, it also contains neurotoxins. It made me light headed when using it. After I learned it contained neurotoxins I knew why.

Bobby, what happened with the GG show car wax?

For some reason I could not get this products to lay down evenly. I'd apply only a few drops of the brown cream in a black pad and regardless of my approach it left heavy streaks, almost gooey. When I finally did get it to lay down it took forever to haze and it's durability was only two weeks or so.

^^^ I had the exact same issue! I also had a hard time removing it as well. And if you tried a bit of spray wax to help, it would just gum up.

Allen may have missed a few Mothers Back to Black submissions. lol...

I was amused by the poster who said he had applied it incorrectly after Forrest from Mother's talked to him. Makes me wonder how he applied it initially.

@cardaddy: I love Meg's #7.

For me it was:

- 6.5" foam pads (when I started out)
- Buff n Shine MF pads
- Buff n Shine Red/black foam pads
- Sonax Perfect Finish
- CG Wheel Guard
- CG Durafoam Contoured Large Tire Dressing Applicators

Hunted this thread down today just to make a correction. I apologize I referred to the wrong polish. I meant to say 'Sonax Profiline Nano Polish' not the 'Sonax Perfect Finish'

What was wrong with the MF pads? I'll be using mine next week. You'd be the first post I've ever seen with a bad review on the B&F MF pads.

Can I ask what you didn't like on these products? I am new to the detailing thing, but these are all the pads that I use. I am wondering if I should try something different and what you didn't like about these.

You will more details on this forum but basically I was able to achieve results faster with 5.5" pads compared to the 6.5" pads. Note I'm referring to the use of a GG6 here. The correction with 6.5" pads felt like it took much longer and more difficult to get.

The Buff N Shine pads were used with a Rupes 15ES. From my experience it didn't work so great with this polisher because of the larger throw. My black pads started separating from the Velcro at speed 3-4.

All my MF Buff N Shine pads are done after 2 cars. Could be an user error on my end on maintaining them on the fly since I don't have an air compressor. I just dipped them in water, sprayed APC and cleaned the fibers by hand each time it got gunked up. I had one pad shot off my polisher, one pad burn out doing my A pillar (I believe I applied a bit too much pressure here), and two pads did not survive a wash in my washing machine with a load of regular MF towels

I went back to foam pads and now I switched to Rupes foam pads for this coming Spring.

Note I'm a weekend warrior so I still have lots of learn

anyone have any linting issues with these mf towels? :(

Not so much anymore.

Washed them a few times and they've been great ever since.

they're linting for me and it's aggravating when you wipe down the windows (i start there first before moving onto the rest of the vehicle because lint is visible) only to see lint all over the place... :(

The 4/5 bottles of Showtime, before I got turned onto UWW+

Lmao

Never tried them on windows, but now that you mention it, I see quite a few of my towels leave lint on windows. I generally use the waffle weave ones there.

Over the past year, this is what I've come up with.

Griot's Garage rubber cleaner
Griot's Garage #4 polish
Griot's Garage #3 polish
Griot's Garage paint glaze
Griot's Garage Vinyl & Rubber Dressing

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating
Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating

Gtechniq C4

CarPro Fog Fight

DP Waterless Wash

Lexol 3-in-1 leather cleaner

Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel.

I know a lot of you love this stuff, but I hate it. Hard to apply evenly, and doesn't look like I put anything on the tire.

Anyone want a bottle of it?
