Wax for black vehicles under $50?

Collinite 915

Best wax in the price point, period.

You should just prep the paint very well and any wax will look good on your paint.
But if I had to choose, collinite 915 looks great on black and hides small imperfections.

:iagree:

Actually you could get #915 for pure looks and #476 for durability and spend about $50.00, LOL. Maybe substitute #476 for #845....no wait, spend a little more and get all 3!

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

915 is pretty close to 476 in durability, actually - and better than 845.

ive used 845 several times and its a great wax no doubt. i cant tell the difference between that and ssii most of the time

I currently have Pete's 53 and it completes the whole process. The most important thing is to make sure that you prep the surface well and the wax will just accent the whole process. I also have Finish Kare pink wax which I like too, I really believe if you try pink wax with fk425 you will love it.:dblthumb2:

For the price Poorboy's World Natty’s Paste Wax – BLUE is a great product on Black cars. I've used it over Poorboy's Black Hole on black cars looks great Natty's Blue is only $21.99 and Black Hole Show Glaze is $16.99 for 16oz. You can get both for under $40.00

I hope this picture is ok

Which lasts longer?

Collinite or this?

I started to use chemical guys butter wet wax on my tux black f150 I like it better than Pete's and 50/50 it's under 20 bucks.

But for the bang for your buck I recommend Poorboys Natty's Blue wax for darker color paint.

NO CONTEST...

the beloved Collinite 915...

your car will glow like EXCALIBUR in the dark forest... :coolgleam:

All I use is Meg's NXT.
Below are a few examples of my work using the wax.

Wax under $20.00

Lot's of good waxes mentioned already. I'll add another one and go with Vic's Red. 3 oz pot well under $50 and 6 oz just over.

The POP is in the prep!

As short a time as I have been on here........ if anything...... this is the one thing that holds true time and time again.

Millions of products out there...... all will look like butt if the prep and details are not taken care of first.

IMHO there really is a not a true "bad" product out there........ least not on AG anyway. :).

They all get great results.... just seems the longevity differs. That matters quite a bit to me......and for that 845 keeps taking the lead.........

Is this so? Someone correct me if I am wrong.

No offense to all who use boutique waxes, but ... I use Meg's Ultimate on my jet-black Saab. The key to making it look great is the prep, not the wax itself. After fulling prepping mine, I put on a coat of Meg's Ultimate Paste, let it cure a day, then another coat. Last time I did it was spring and the water still beads like crazy.

Meg's Ultimate gives a hard shiny finish. If I have time, I'll top it with a carnuba, which gives a deep, almost liquid finish. Looks amazing on a black vehicle.

When I had a black car, I used either Zymol Carbon, or Meguiar's #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax. Considerable price difference, comparable performance. The Carbon being $50, and the #26 being under $20. I doubt the #26 would disappoint you. It's forte is blacks and reds. As of late, my favorite wax to use.
