Man what a nice car.
Unfortunately it needed some love after having been maintained (the term is used loosely) through the local car wash. Its really mind boggling how much damage can get inflicted in such a relatively short time.
So jumping straight in the first order of business was a...
The climate where I live certainly doesn't necessitate any 'anti-freezing' capabilities... so for me, the liquid is literally just used to wash the window on the go.... so for that I use ONR at rinseless wash dilution. Seems to work well enough and if some gets on the paint in the process, I...
Thank you
Thanks Bill. I suspect he was using something like one of those aggressive sponges typically used in the kitchen, to scrub off dried on bird droppings or similar. The paint was also quite soft which didn't help, but yeah, it is quite shocking how bad the paint was.
I actually had a long chat with the owner beforehand around how important proper maintenance post detail is, and he has invested heavily in tools and products, and I have been teaching him how to wash the car correctly going forward.

During - the process was...
This daily driver had some work done on the passenger side rear 1/4 panel and unfortunately the panel beater left the whole car full of buffer trails. The paint was also heavily contaminated and so the plan was to get it clean and decontaminated, give the paint a simple 1 step correction to...
Thanks - I wouldn't say that the paint was very hard...sort of medium hard, if there is such a thing... as you can see though from some of the before shots, the paint was really hammered in some places, hence the need to get so aggressive....
Look I haven't done a lot of Mercedes (I think 9 in...
Maybe I have completely misunderstood how coatings work, but if it is indeed pretty much like the lotus effect on some plants (picture tiny little spikes with gaps in between), then surely adding a wax or a sealant on top of a coating will kill off the self-cleaning ability of the coating, by...
