FWIW...and not to be 'that guy' - but I'm sure this isn't factory. I use 3M GP adhesive remover, a bit of hot air, and a trusty old plastic putty knife. Mineral spirits (or lacquer thinner) will work too. Soak a towel or applicator, apply generously, follow with heat and some dwelling time...

Not to pile on, but definitely....too much product. "Much less than you think....seriously!" is the right amount for any LSP. You can always apply a second coat if you feel it's needed, but applying too heavy will drive you nuts. Especially in a humid climate.

A good degreaser - APC, the Griot's product, even trusty old Waxblaster - and a nylon brush for agitation. And a roll of painter's tape so you don't make the same mistake next time. :)

Before you spend a lot of time.... try a simple Dawn (or other fairly heavy degreaser) wash. What you're experiencing sounds very typical, and I think you may be pleased with the results.
