Covering chips on bumper trim (for lack of a better description??)

    It’s cheap, I’d replace it, I had same problem on a C7 Corvette, I replaced it every 18 months…

    Most durable SOWO product?

Cancoat Evo is a new favorite for me- I use a microfiber brick to apply, then a quick buff with a microfiber they give you for outstanding results….

    Ceramic Coating Haze

I just don’t see a need to use coatings anymore unless you are a detailer that has a far away customer and you can’t get them to do any type of procedures to keep the car clean. But s SIO2 sprays and graphene and other things now have come so far and getting good six month protection I just...

    Ceramic Coating Haze

I remember reading an interview with Dr. G, one of the early originators of coatings, and he said they made it for people that did not want to detail their cars and wash their cars every week, something that would be much more permanent. So I went ahead and used several coatings for a few years...

Thoughts....would you bill higher if the car was owned by an athlete or celebrity ?

Personally I think it’s a basic business fundamental that if you’re vary your pricing based upon the financial status of your customer, you are looking at long-term failure… People are not stupid, the word gets out… In the late 80s I was a general manager/partner of a Porsche dealership in...

    Charging

You don’t say where you’re located, I would put that in your signature. Good detailers in South Florida are $65 an hour.

    Review - Gyeon CanCoat Evo

I let my Cancoat application sit completely dry in a garage for 24 hours after I applied it. Then I applied car pro elixir, which is a dilution of reload. It looks great, so I’m sure Reload (or any other si02 spray) would be fine. However I don’t think it was absolutely necessary to apply...

Your thoughts on vehicle service maintenance

A lot of the OLM systems now , particularly Honda and the Asian imports , are far more than an hour meter. They take into account the load on the engine and the throttle placement. And I can tell you that this works, when I had a Honda Accord where I was commuting stop and go , versus another...

    Review - Gyeon CanCoat Evo

John- If you are ordering some you’ll see what I mean, it doesn’t look like the twist cap hermetically seals very well, my question is the actual product itself, does it crystallize and go bad like an open container of Cquartz? Or does it hold up well with standard packaging like reload? I’ll...

    Review - Gyeon CanCoat Evo

I’m not getting a warm and fuzzy that this metal EVO bottle will seal very well. Do I need to vacuum bag this bottle in storage? Or just a tight piece of duct tape around the top cap? I’d like to get a year or two out of the product on my shelf.

    Review - Gyeon CanCoat Evo

    I think it’s a weird name for a product, but it’s better than “coat in a can”…

A Chemist answers your questions about detailing products

You are correct, it’s important to look at PPF after a year or two, and getting it off is absolutely a chore… There are pluses and there are minuses…

    Review - Gyeon CanCoat Evo

Update… At first I was concerned it was hard to see going on, but then in the right light I can see the coverage. Buffed up well, nice gloss ,will give you updates, as my bike is used every day rain or shine.

Bmw stretched out their intervals, then a few years later after their warranty records showed a deficiency, they rolled it back… I was with them at the time that it happened.

Your thoughts on vehicle service maintenance

Absolutely correct. I am retired general manager/owner of a dealership, and a manufacturer rep for Porsche , BMW and Kawasaki over my career. NEVER do anything more than what the owners manual tells you to do, dealerships make their money by “upselling” what the manual tells you is necessary...

Your thoughts on vehicle service maintenance

I used ramps for years and I’m confident that I got a good oil change. What’s left in there is not enough to worry about. I changed every 5000 but recently being retired, I hit the time interval before I hit the mileage interval, so I change annually… I use a local Jiffy Lube I trust and can...
