HD Speed - Quick One Step on Ford F150

***25 Day Update*** Looks like HD Speed is pretty much gone on the hood. Still holding up somewhat on the sides. These pictures were taken today after a heavy downpour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Initial Impressions of Mille vs Flex 3401

I had the opportunity to try out the Mille at Autogeek's Show Car Garage on a couple of projects and I still prefer the Flex 3401. To me the Flex felt smoother. The head of the Mille sits higher than the head of the Flex, so for me, the Mille has a tendency to "walk" more if you tilt it...

How much do you charge for a one-step exterior detail?

I'm about at the 5-7 hour range and about $400-500, depending on the size and condition of vehicle. I normally like to top the AIO with a sealant for longer lasting protection.

    Need a little help!

I have seen scratches or marring from wiping on soft paint or using improper towels but I have yet to see holograms caused by wiping. Holograms normally come from the unique scratch patterns left behind from using a rotary buffer. Compound, polish and wax residue can also have that hologram affect.

    Need a little help!

There is a difference between high and low grade MF towels. I have used Costco towels, which some consider to be a lower grade towel and are cheap, successfully for applying waxes, sealants and removing coatings without marring the paint. Just a few questions about your towels: 1. Do you...

    Need a little help!

Actually I have heard of Estonia. There's a detailer friend who lives close to me and is also a member of this forum from Estonia (antti@561detailing). Didn't know they gave the world Skype. What kind or brand of random orbital are you using? Not familiar with 3M Fine Compound but that may be...

Where are you located? Maybe someone on the forum lives close by and can help you out.

    Need a little help!

If the marring/holograms are shifting and changing directions every time you wipe then it sounds like residue from Megs M21.

    Marine 31 Captains Coating problems

I've used it before and it applied fairly easy for me. This was a couple of years ago when it first came out. Maybe you got a bad bottle or perhaps the shelf life was close to expiration.

HD Speed - Quick One Step on Ford F150

***Day 9 Update*** Today has been 9 days since HD Speed was applied to this Ford F-150. As previously noted, this truck sits outside 24/7 so it gets its share of sun and rain. The truck has not been washed since HD Speed was applied (5/28/18) until today. I did a rinseless wash on the hood...

    Question on washing towels

You can wipe the washer and dryer with a damp general purpose MF towel before using.

BLACKFIRE SiO2 Spray Sealant - Water Beading Shots

I just applied it to the roof of the car which has a little slope to it but as far as I could tell it's mostly beading.

    McKees N914

I just used it today as a rinseless wash. I've also used it as a waterless wash, clay lube and paint prep. Great product, picking up a gallon of it today with the AG sale going on.

Flex 3401 base gear plate has bigger gap?

Doesn't look like it's seated correctly. The slot on the backing plate has to line up just right on the nut in the gear mechanism.
