Precision Buffing with the Rupes TA50 - It doesn't get any better than this!

I am very interested in that tool. There was word that it can't hold up to polishing. . .what's your take on this, Mike? If it can hold up to polishing, I'd be interested. I'd say there's no car you couldn't polish out with this, combined with the Rupes 21 and the lhr75e.

Anything with 'Lingenfelter' on it deserves 'The Finest' - Rare SSR Corrected & Coated

Wow, I respect your work so much. Excellent photography and honest, no bull approach to showing us how you do things. I like how you show trouble areas as well, not just some pretty picture. You didn't just take a couple pics of the best panel and say, "look how good this came out!" You talk...

Need some advice with this damage.

Bummer, looks fixable for the most part. I'm surprised you don't have more damage. I can tell you how I'd do it in my shop. I'd obviously wash and clay. I'd then compound with a 4 inch wool pad and rotary. I wouldn't use a ton of pressure...just enough to knock off the scuffs. I don't like using...

    Meguiar's D14001 Wheel Brightener - I'm sick of it

D140 does rust rotors, worse than just water or most typical wheel cleaners. There's a lot of controversy on the safety of certain ingredients in the product, mostly ammonium bi-flouride. Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure that's the one. this ingredient has it's own set of health...

    Wheel brushes??

That's what I do. I bend the Jr. brush for getting behind spokes.

    Wheel brushes??

It looks like your brush got hit by a lawn mower. I use those bad boys professional and I can get a year out of them. I've never seen that before. Now, one complaint I will add is that the handles fall off and constantly have to be screwed back on. I guess I'm just too lazy to put some epoxy...

    Product Review: CarPro Spotless

All that said, I'm pretty excited about this product, despite my slightly cynical, previous post. haha.

    Product Review: CarPro Spotless

What is this "balanced" acid they speak of? I've been secretly using acid for a long time, but I can't talk about it on here, because guys are on me like white on rice. And when I say acid, I don't mean hydrofluoric or any byproducts or anything similar to that. Mostly citric and phosphoric to...

Nanoskin Pad Marring, What did I do wrong?

You may have a good point here. I always just used soapy water with traditional clay. I may need to change this up a little. I'm going to test this a little and try different lubes. I may even mix in a little onr with my soapy water and see if that helps.

Nanoskin Pad Marring, What did I do wrong?

I almost never use lube, just soap. I've had nanoskin mar paint with both soap and onr as lube. It's just the name of the game. Improper technique can cause more severe marring, but sometimes it just can't be prevented. I've never had an issue removing the marring by polishing. The issue is...

    It ticks me off

Most dealers barely register as human beings. I don't know why that is. Don't get me wrong, I've dealt with a few great dealers, but I must stress a few. I haven't done any dealer work for a couple years. I've had high end car dealerships call me wanting $100 details on exotics. I just say...

    Speedy prep surface towel

I agree. I don't care what anybody says. The towels, sponges, whatever...cause micro marring that almost looks like flat spots in the paint. It corrects no problem with even a single step, but it's scary looking haha.

    It ticks me off

The longer I'm in business, the less frustrated I get about this problem. It's really annoying at first, when you are trying to get a start and really need the money. As your business matures, you'll have less no shows because you'll develop a better relationship with your clients and will...

2008 Honda CRV (single-stage paint correction w/ Americoat Coating)

Nice work and it's cool to see someone go over and beyond on a "regular" car. Nice photography as well. It really shows the "details." It's also cool to see somebody use a different set of products than the "norm." I haven't had a chance to read up much on Americoat products. How are you liking...

    ceramic pro

I received a sample but haven't tried it yet. I really don't think they understand detailers or the American market. They are extremely pushy, beyond just being annoying. They downright pissed me off, and I took the sample pretty much to get the guy to shut up. Instead of honest facts, they just...

    Time to talk about pricing...

Don't start doing paint correction until you've got 100 or more cars under your belt. BobbyG's suggestion seemed pretty legit. Stick to basic detailing like basic interior and wash and wax. Maybe offer an AIO after you feel more confident with that. Coming on here and saying you are going to...
