This could be caused by the type of towel you're using. A good MF towel works best, but you can also use newspaper. Depending on how dirty the inside of the windshield is, it could take a couple wipes to get it clean and streak free.

What glass cleaner are you using currently? I've always used Stoner's Invisible Glass and never had any issues with it not cleaning the glass.

I can see the point of view regarding coatings since it is a chemical bond to the paint, much more of a bond than a sealant or wax. But waxes and sealants don't have that kind of chemical bond and you have to go by something to know when to reapply. Though with coatings, what would you use...

I love beading and use it to determine when I need to re-apply a wax/sealant. In my eyes, if a car isn't beading anymore, then the wax/sealant that I put down has been completely removed and it's time to re-apply. If not for water beads, how would we know that the paint is still being protected?

I have had a lot of success doing a one step with Menzerna Power Finish on a white pad with the rotary. I've also used 3M UF. In all fairness, the polishes/pads I have used have been on the "less agressive" side, so holograms aren't really a concern. My PC kind of just sits in the cabinet now...

I haven't been able to find quality pads like we can get from AG, but I have found some pads at Harbor Freight. Also, the 3M headlight kits usually come with some kind of polishing pad if you're in a pinch.

So what plans do you have for it? Anything performance related?

I have used WGDGPS before and have always enjoyed it. I haven't used it in a while because I collected quite a few nubas that I wanted to use, but I remember it being fool proof to apply and it lasting a long while. Not to mention the beading you get is crazy!!

I've detailed a couple cars for Chicago winters and have had good results with WGDGPS and Autoglym HD.

In the past, I have had good luck with a soft bristle brush (such as a Kiwi shoe brush) with Lexol Leather Cleaner. You can also use a MF towel soaked in hot water. There are other leather products that AG sells that can be used, but the process is a bit more involved and I do not have any...

Take a look at the Rupes machine instead. I haven't used one yet, but reviews are saying that it's buttery smooth and doesn't have all the vibration.

How awesome is 3M UF to use with a rotary?! Talk about glossy! Unfortunately it's not a polish to use with a DA. Menz 106 finishes down nice with a DA though!
