6 LSP's go head to head!

In my experience with two cars side by side in the garage (garage queens), the 845 attracts more dust than the Powerlock. The other cars outside, I don't notice any difference as the rain washes away the dust.

First time DA'ing. Have a question!!!

Put a black line on the backing plate so you can verify the pad is rotating during buffing. If not rotating, lighten the pressure or increase speed or both.

Technique for my first attempt at a coating.

I used some OC2.0 in late August. It was 2 years old +/-. It was stored in the box in the house. Was clear in the tube and worked fine.

    My FIRST Coating...11 Months Later!

I like you did my first coating in July 2014 on my wife's new BMW using 2.0. Was very pleased with performance. Looks just like your water video. Too bad 2.0 was replaced. I have not yet tried Opt GC.

I want to try a coating inexpensively - recommendations?

I used Optimum coating on my wife's new white BMW. Not real slick, but sheds the daily dirt and lasts at least a year (June 2014). Pleased with the Optimum products.

    Collinite 845 vs Wheel sealant + spoke-brush

I have also used 845. It lasts a long time. I think the durability will be more dependent on the wheel cleaner used. Harsh = less life. I use the car wash soap without issue. 845 is a favorite for my pre winter prep.

    Sealant vs Coating Question

I have more wax, sealant and coating products than I will use in my lifetime. Always fun to try new products and looking forward to more. Each has advantages. I use my favorites.

Wonder why Autogeeks don't want dealers washing your new vehicle? LOOK at THIS! #Ooops

I use the "No Wash" signs, notify the service writer and also tell them not to use impact wrenches on the lug nuts. Then I watch them. Both the BMW and Volvo dealers have allowed me into the service areas to observe and converse with the Technicians. Much appreciated.

I use warm, hand comfortable, water to wash and rinse. No issue stripping wax or sealant that I have noticed.

    Garage Heater

The tank valve is the old style. I suggest trading for a new tank/valve when empty. The tanks do have a certification date. If you are concerned of leakage, place a bucket over the top of the tank and leave for a few days. If the tank valve is leaking, the propane odor will be easier to...

Opticoat 2.0 discontinued, OptiCoat Pro sees price increase

I'm retired. Been polishing cars since early 70's. I thank Autogeek for the many many fine products. My employed wife purchased a 2014 BMW to replace her hail damaged insurance totaled car. I purchased OC 2.0 and the full line of Optimum prep products. Her new car looks great. One of her...

is it worth buying neoprene car seat covers?

Well pleased with neoprene car seat covers. Fit is excellent and stays in place. Worth the $ to protect the seat. Don't spend on universal or "fits" seat covers.

    A few engine bay questions

Many cars have computer modules and fuse boxes in the engine area. These are probably within plastic boxes. The boxes may or may not have seals on the covers and may have small vent fans (like a computer PC fan). Should be ok with low water spray not directed at the openings.

They're Repoed, I Win!!! And we will eventually

Way back when I was single, b4 children (now in college), I had a Bugeye Sprite and a side curtain Midget. Had the Bugeye for almost 20 years, never wet except to be washed. Toy cars as I had a Javelin or later cars to drive. Sold both soon after getting married. I had a chance to purchase...

They're Repoed, I Win!!! And we will eventually

WOW, good luck. Most generous of you to share. My hobby stash has been slowly added to as "she who must be obeyed" doesn't notice. Except when I do her car, white uck. But, it's clean and beads. A few good scores there.

    Do I or Don't I?

I am also retired. About 6 years ago I purchased a Dewalt DA and was frustrated with the wax spreader performance. Then I found Autogeek and realized the 8" pads were inappropriate for the DA. Now i use 3", 4" and 5.5" foam pads. I use on our daily driver cars with many products from...
