joe you dont have to spray alcohol on the entire car after polishing un less you want to. you really only need to if you want to check an area after you polished it to see if the polish broke down correctly

your right on my car I probably wouldnt do that. But on someones car that had lots of swirls or scratches I wanted to get out, I think I might do it.

The 50/50 alc will probably make it easier to wipe away the residue anyway.
 
on "others" cars I find a quick wipe down with alcohol is a benefit. Not only to see if polish broke down, but more importantly is the paint correction done or is it just fillers hiding it.
