GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That truck looks amazing. Great job correcting the paint surface guys. The paint looks like it's dripping wet.

Found another picture that really shows how smooth and glossy the paint came out...

Glen had to leave town for the weekend, when he gets back I'll try to catch up with him on a sunny day for some sun shots...

:)

Mike, great job as always...turned out beautiful.

Was real nice talking to you on the phone today and i really appreciate the tips, feedback and advice you offered even in the middle of working on your project truck :dblthumb2:

Also im glad you pointed out the 'car of the week' thread at the bottom of the home page, i usually come across any car of the week just looking through recently updated threads, nice to know there is a designated link at the bottom of the home page...i'll be sure to keep an eye out for next weeks update :)

Again thanks for the talk earlier today and I'll be sure to let you know how things turn out.

I always find how people navigate forums interesting as we all have our own approach. But yeah, I have a "box" at the bottom of the forum homepage and that's where I post upcoming projects or links to the threads for previous projects.

hey thanks for the reply .gonna have get 1.i looked all over ag for them lol
Tell you what they really came in handy while I was claying the roof .They also make a great seat while on the lower panels plus you have a handy place to keep anything your using close by . I think I will also buy one this weekend .

If you own a truck, van or suv, they are invaluable for working on the roof.

And like Adam said, they double as a chair for lower portions...

If you detail a lot of tall vehicles, do yourself a huge favor and get two of these stands, it will save you time by not having to move a single stand from side to side as you work on the high portions.

They are light, the legs fold in and lock for storage and when you're standing on them they are stable unlike some other options like standing on a chair or bucket.

Plus, you can walk back and forth on the length of them and this helps a lot with long vehicles like suvs.

:)

Home Depot, i have one...priceless for sure...nice and light. They're called Werner Work Platforms : 35-3/4 in. x 39 in. x 41 in. 225 lb. Load Capacity Portable Aluminum Work Platform-AP-20 at The Home Depot

Lowes carries them too.

Might want to hold off for a few weeks. Those platforms have been $19 on Black Friday for the past 3 years. I don't usually stick my nose out on BF but I was passing by Lowe's at 6 ayem on BF a few years ago after working a mid shift. I wish I would've got 2 or 3 of 'em. One for each side of the vehicle and another as a workbench for machines, polishes, pads etc.

Thats an awesome price if you can handle the crowd. 2 would be nice if you have a shop or of you do a lot of work at home or have a vehicle big enough to haul all your other gear along with 2 of these, but since they fold flat the size isn't too big of an issue :)

6 ayem there were about 5 other cars in the parking lot. :) If I hadn't seen the ad in a newspaper at work and been driving by on the way home that early there's no way I'd tackle the nut cases climbing over each other to find the deal of their dreams on BF!

I DO enjoy going to Wal Mart on Xmas Eve though. Right about the time they make the closing announcements the look of terror on the faces of those that just started their Xmas shopping is priceless! Probably one of the reasons some women get vacuum cleaners as gifts. Guy reaches out and grabs whatever's in front of him and heads for the checkout...

hahaha now THAT would make a great youtube video..."It twas the night before christmas and all through the mart, men were running their asses off throwing whatever they could find in the cart!"

Hi mike.. I want to ask about your statement

mike phillips said:

why u choose microfiber finishing pads ? Not the lake foam pad ?

Thanks

Re: 1954 Ford F-100 - Extreme Makeover - Modeled by Janna

What pad manufacturers recommend is to use the correct matching backing plate to the pad so that you're using the Velcro hook-n-loop material designed for their system. It is true that using the wrong type of hook, mis-matched to the loop material can increase heat over time with pressure and cause both backing plate and pad failure.

I'm not sure how "sticky" the pads are supposed to be on the backing plates, but I'm using the LC pads on the GG backing plate that came with the polisher and it seems like I literally have to pry off the pad. Do you think the LC backing plate will make a difference?
