2011 BMW M3 three step correction(lots of pics)

Great job! LMAO about "this is what the dealership claims is impossible to prevent". Got to love it...:props:

I can't believe they said it wasn't possible to prevent. Christ, you should go to them and offer your detailing services. :)

Great job by the way.

actually the dealership was right. those swirls are impossible to prevent cause you get swirls from just driving and having the wind blowing dirt against car. but as we all know they can be removed

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the wool pad/compound swirls that were put into the paint by a former detailer. Not the naturally induced swirls.

next time take your lights out so you can get underneath the cracks in between the bumper/lense and all the way around and underneath and whatnot. (im not sayin you missed anything, looks good. it would save you time with the taping and nothing will get on the lights and you can get all the way back.) ;-)

Have you ever taken Bimmer lights out? You can but it can be very time consuming as well as even taking a connector loose can cause dash lights to pop on... I have seen this too many times where just unplugging the connector will throw a BECM code... Taping and using proper technique and post compound/lsp clean up is just fine... Plus on a customer's car they may have an objection to you dismantling it...

really? hmm i never knew that. i take my dad's lights out of his '11 cadillac and i have no problems, i do the same with my 10yr old gtp also. damn cars nowadays are too complex.

Highly agreed. Unless you talk with the client prior that is not a good idea. Taping and proper technique are the way to go.

Car looks amazing!! About to buy some Sonax, always heard good things about it.
