Taken directly from the Horse's mouth, Aaron @ Edge.

Thanks for the email. The AG site is wrong. The orange is the most aggressive pad we make. Soon we will have it on our website but until now it has not been part of our standard line. Orange is a super stiff european foam that cuts more with pressure than pore size. Green is a light cut foam pad." I don't know why all the vendors have it wrong and why they aren't all on the same page.

So please answer me why I've seen people here like Justin say that the "AG orange" is different than any other one? Bob at Danase, all of Autopia, and even Aaron @ Edge disagree with that.

lol...too funny. I actually saw the black pad here in Calgary it feels really aggresive...thanks for posting. Clear as mud right hahahaha

k ..so say im using xmt line...and kinda bad swirls..
i would use xmt 3 with edge orange
and xmt 1 with edge (geen or blue?)
and glaze with edge white?

You have the first two switched orngez.

It is...

Edge 2k

Orange- Most aggressive
Yellow
Green
Blue
White
Red- Least aggressive

sounds like a good plan of attack...you might be able to remove the swirls with xmt3 and the green pad...and it will finish lsp ready....just try out different combinations...heavy swirl removers dont have to be paired with cutting pads...sometimes they will get the level of defect removal with a lighter pad...

That is what I believe to be correct, except switch the Edge yellow/org.

all you guys have it wrong!!!!!
its
purple
strawberry
blueberry
peach
orange
white
there you go no more confusion. glad i cleared this up for you guys.:p

i keep the yellow at the top because with such an open pore design it gives off a ton of micromarring and hazing because it is so aggressive..i always find it needs to be followed up with a polishing/finishing pad....the orange with the tighter pore design but denser foam corrects at about the same level on swirls and usualy finishes closer to lsp ready....but i find the orange doesnt do much in the realm of oxidation and paint leveling which really needs that open pore design to sluff off oxidation and paint without getting clogged up after one panel...i could be wrong but those have been my experiences and findings...thats why i keep yellow at the top...

I've always heard that the orange pad that AG sells is made especially for them and that the order is

Yellow

Green

Orange

Blue

White

i have the orange pad from ag and from another vendor...same pad...more agressive than green...i

Interesting. I'll bring this to AG's attention and see if we can't get to the bottom of this mystery. :)

That's what I thought. I know the yellow leaves some micro marring, but I also find on my car, the green does too. Yet I can use the orange and OP and have an lsp ready finish. Color me confused.

There's no way orange has more correcting power than yellow. I like how orgnez termed it up with the pores, micromarring, oxidation, etc. I'll keep that in mind.

I just removed a lot of micromarring with the orange pad and OP that was caused from OC and yellow pad. Worked pretty well.
