A meet with a fellow Geek

Looks like you guys had a blast, and the car does look great too. It's a lot of fun having a meet up like this, I can't wait for the next one I have here in south central PA.

Normal folks are like, "Yeah, so you guys waxed a car together....what's the big deal?" :bash::argue::bat: For us, it's so much more than that.

Great job James on giving of yourself to help out the newcomer, and great job Grady on jumping right in there and learning something that can at first be a bit scary to do. It's nice that Kevin drove all the way to help out too.

That's what I like to call "The Brotherhood of Geeks".

Hey Grady, be sure to let us know and and take before\afters of those wheels when you get to coating them! What do you have to safely clean the wheels (don't remember you saying what you had for cleaning)? Kevin mentioned you were thinking of changing them out, I think those fit the car perfectly and being in such great shape, I'd just coat them and be done! :xyxthumbs: I'm going to be putting on TuffShine for the tires on my daily, especially since they are fairly new and never had anything put on them.
Glass looked really great before and now I'm sure it looks even better, especially coated. How did you like the coating application? Oh, and don't forget that engine compartment! I never did check it out, which is strange forgetting to look, I must have been just thinking about that nice blue paint! Did you keep some of the W3.0 from Kevin? I can't wait to see the before\afters of your brothers car.
Have fun with your new products!

Hey Eric,
I will take pics of before and after when i do my wheels. I so far have just the BF wheel cleaner and the Pinnacle black label coating. i need to buy the iron X and the Pinnacle Black label surface cleansing polish. My gold paint for the roters arrived the other day so once i paint them i'll do the wheels at the same time. i want to coat the roters also.
Yea i like the wheels but i don't love them i'm going to buy these
CCW - Complete Custom Wheel // Classic Wheel Design

18x9.5 in the front with a 3.5" lip and rears will be 18x11 with a 5" lip. gold centers with polished lip. I think these wheels will fit perfectly with the car seems they are a classic look.

i only sealed the windows but when it rained last night i went out to take a look at he car to see how it was beeding and it was amazing how the water just flew off.

Ive cleaned my engine bay quite a few times. i just can't push myselfe to spray water all in there. but once i get the feel for it and better understand the process i'll do it.

No i didn't get any of the WGC3.0. this weekend i need to put in another order of the last few things i'm missing. I hope this will be the last big order i do. after this it'll be orders of stuff i ran out of lol.

Yea i can't wait to do my brothers car. it's going to take me 3 days to do it but excited to get it done. i think the BFCW will look awesome on his black car.

Looks like you guys had a blast and the car looks great!

Altho not a Geek, I've also had the pleasure of teaching someone and it was a very rewarding experience. However, I would like to add that even tho polishing is the jewel of detailing, maintenance washes are so very important. Since Garducio is a AGO member, I am sure he will learn if necessary and use the proper technique in his maintenance washes. However, for non-Geeks, I think it is a must.

thanks. the spoiler i bought like that wrapped in carbon finer then they put clear over it.
you should wrap your car it gives it a nice look and protects your car also.

Yea the wheels are in great shape just a few rock chips and the lips have minor scratches thanks to the shop that mounted my tires. i was so pissed at them for doing that, that i didn't pay them for mounting my tires. i gave them 2 options , get my wheels resprayed or not charging me. they rather not have charged me for them.
but other than that tey are clean. in a few weeks i'm going to take them off the car clean them polish them then coat them with the black label wheel coating.

Oh I would have gone NUTS! I would have made them repair or replace the wheels. Or give me the tires for free!:bat: :argue::bat:

So you want to replace those wheels with the others? I actually like the 5 spokes better. Although I see where you're going with the classic look, but if it were me I'd pick some that don't have the 30 freaking bolts that you have to clean. Yikes! Looks like they have several with that same "classic look", just without having to clean those darned bolts. (Pssssst can you tell I don't like cleaning those puppies?)

Yea i gave them hell. i just ended up not paying for them if i had time and i was in my home town at the time then yea i would have made them respray them. But was in mississippi at the time.

I really like the 3 piece wheels but here is what i'm going to do to prevent having a pain in the ass day cleaning them . the day they get to my house i'm cleaning them then coating them before i put them on my car and i'll be cleaning them weekly to prevent build up .Im the MAN

Sorry I got the names all mixed up.

Meh, NP at all Dave! Like you said, "That's what I like to call "The Brotherhood of Geeks" is very true.
I know Grady will be just fine working on his brother's car, as Kevin mentioned, Grady learns quickly (he showed it) and hands on is the best way for many, like he and I. I can read many posts and watch many videos, but actually doing the work (no matter what it is) will only help ourselves grow and learn more about the products we use. Now to practice more with my Rupes and various products!
Have great day!

You are right man the best way is to have hands on experience and to just jump in. I learned quick bc i had you and Kevin ,2 experienced guys, showing me the right techniques.

Now am in the process of buying thelast stuff i need to do my wheels and will post them up once they are done. I think it's going to take me all day to do them lol

Well there ya' go.... that was the problem all along.

JUST KIDDING!!!!! ;)

I like 3 piece wheels too, just don't like the bolts that come with them.

Their 2 piece (with the same style) look really nice. I like the ones that have the curved look spokes. Not the ( ) curves, but the offset look, convex perhaps. Just adds a bit of dimensionality to them. (How's that for a fancy word?) ;)

Yea i know lol
you talking about these ?? CCW - Complete Custom Wheel // LM5T2PC Wheel Design

I like these but i really like the 3 piece wheels i really like the bolt look. Yes i may regret it later on but if i just take care of them at the beginning they ahould stay pretty clean.

Oh friday placing the order for my wheel cleaning stuff. So hopefully next week i'll have my wheels cleaned and protected.
