Adam's versus Menzerna

Well with Adam's they only have one compound, that's it one.
If you like it then stick with it if not it may be time to go outside Adam's to find better compound.
WG Über Compound is one heck of a correction product.
Here at AG I guarantee you you'll find more than one compound and most you'll like IMHO.
More choices here.

Adam's is more of a novice type company , most pros wouldn't use their polishes being there's much better out there , again, IMHO.

Have you used their paint correction polish?

No, but I haven't made any claims about the product. You have said others are better in your opinion but you haven't used it?

My point was they only offer one compound, so sure there's better.
Someone I know who is a detailer used it and he said the UC gave him a better cut.
He gave it many tries then gave up.

Which is the best compound on the market?
We'll never know for sure.

Like I said, if he likes it then stick with it.

Right now I have the buff and shine (aka Adam's) 4th gen pads which look like this:

Do I need to switch the Hydro-Tech Pads from LC or can I use the pads I already have with the Menzerna?

You can certainly use the same pads. I have used Adams in the past. I prefer Menzerna FG400.

Thanks man...I have been reading about people saying the HydroTech pads are the best for the Flex so I just wasn't sure.

Sorry to thread jack, but what would you guys recommend for a start up kit of Menzerna polishes? I currently use Chemical Guys V Line and see so many of you pushing Menzerna.

Haven't tried there new stuff but Adams old swirl and haze, polish and machine super sealant did not impress me at all. I sent it back and got some towels and other stuff.

I use Megs, Menzerna and recently HD Cut, Polish and Adapt. BTW really like the HD stuff. Never found Adams products to be worth the money. Even if there new stuff is good, I still wouldn't buy it.

Depends on what type of paints you are going to be polishing.

I do a lot of VAG stuff (VW, Audi, SEAT etc) but have also dealt with soft stuff like Subarus.

I find in most cases

PF2500 for a 1-step

If you are 2-stepping, FG400 to cut and SF4000 to finish.

SF4500 to really eek out gloss or for really soft paint.

But like I said above, it really is dependent on the paint.

I mostly use

SF4000
PF2500
FG400

Hope this helps:xyxthumbs:

I also do a lot of VAG as well as BMW, Mercedes, & Saab since I work with a Euro Repair shop. I wish I could get a sample pack to try. I have had good luck with CG product but like I said, so many of you talk about Menzerna.

Well I haven't tried any of the chemical guys polishes, so can't make a direct comparison.

The Menz range does work well for me though, especially on German Paint.

wow, never thought i would see this coming - but it looks like dylan from adams polishes is leaving. i wonder if he's going to pursue another car care company. maybe he is going to join the AG crew? j/k. never met him but he seemed like a nice guy...

My impression of Adam's is that it is a boutique product company that makes products for the upper middle class to rich customer who has a nice car and wants to take care of it but doesn't have much experience.
Their polishes are made to have less risk of damaging the paint so they will likely not cut as well.
Their products are more expensive than other products that work just as well, if not better. The products are generally good, but the value isn't as great as virtually every other manufacturer.

Menzerna is made for professional detailers who know what they are doing and want the products that give the best results.

I would want to try the HD polishes that are transparent when working.

Guys I would take advantage of the existing thread and if the author allows me ask a question regarding polishing products for a hobby use: would you prefer Meguiars (105, 205, etc), Chemical Guys (V36, V38, etc) or would yo directly go to Menzerna? Thanks and I hope the author doesnt mind, otherwise just tell me and I will edit it.

Interesting anymore these days a five to six year window of employment is normal, wonder if he had a falling out or something lined up I thought he was adams boy! :buffing:

Interesting. Just wild speculation here of course, but I wonder if it's a case of conscience catching up. I once had a job selling something where the reality of its abilities didn't live up to the hype and sensationalism of the marketing machine. It does catch up with you and wear you down if you have a conscience.

Adams products are OK from what I've come to find. I might even upgrade them to good if they were about 30-35% cheaper than what they list for. Unfortunately, they aren't marketed that way, IMHO.

Wolfgang Polishes are very user friendly and produce fantastic results! They are manufactured by Menzerna so they offer the very best in abrasive technology.
