ADS Ghost tire coating...real world durability and looks!

So what's the difference between Tire+ and Ghost?

I'm almost out of primus. I havesadly. 1-2 washes left in it. So you say that 2.0 is better than Decon. Maybe stick with primus then. It's a pretty versatile product. If you want to PM me your address, I'll send you what I have left of Semper. I am going to get a new shampoo soon. Maybe Koch Chemie or something.

I appreciate both of your responses guys. Now time to spend some money tomorrow!

Tire+ is a "traditional" tire dressing, Ghost is a tire coating.

You mentioned something about 2.0, I have no experience with it aadly.

So here's that same tire I posted a couple days ago, documented dirty, obviously

The next picture will be when I run it through the touch-free wash but because it will be even more dirty, including the car itself, I'll probably pre-wash it, all of it but I'm committed to NO TOUCHING the tire, even drying it, to show how it REALLY does...stay "tuned"

Is this a coating like Mckee’s or Tuff Shine? Or a dressing like Perl/darkside?

It seemed to me to be a coating, but in previous discussions about it, it's supposed to be some sort of hybrid dressing/coating. I will say ADS did a video about it recently, and one coat seemed to be a lot more matte than the other coatings. Maybe Klasse can comment on that vs. Mr. Cartoon (I see he just beat me to posting).

After today's ice aftermath, she did an hour and a half drive to an appointment, furthering "the test" and tomorrow will be her trip to the touch-free wash

So Klasse, did you find the gloss level on Ghost to be similar to Mr. Cartoon, or different? Since it looked rather matte in the recent ADS video, I wonder if Ghost is just essentially more diluted than some of the other coatings, allowing you to tune it more to the level of gloss you prefer. I did buy a bottle of it on Black Friday but who knows when I will get to use it.

The gloss level is very similar to Mr. Cartoon, both products are layerable for sure. I've got more recent experience with Ghost but I'd say Ghost has the edge on application as it spreads very well but it could be using it more recently.

I've found 1 coat is more matte, after 10 mins the 2nd and even 3rd coats, each with the standard 10 minute cure time, makes the tire have more of a sheen, never ever "used car lot" shine...EVER

ADS classify Ghost as a tire "sealant", in effect sitting between a dressing and coating.

Dressing - Solvent or water based, short term effect, 5 to 7 days.
Sealant - Solvent or water based, medium term effect, 1 to 2 months.
Coating - Ceramic based, longer term effect, 6+ months.

Ghost is actually water based, which explains why it's so easy to apply, anyone who's used the solvent-based Darkside or Gyeon Q2 Tire will know what I mean.

Since McKee's and Tuf Shine are water based acrylics, what product(s) would be in your "Coating" category?

There aren't many ceramic coatings focused on tires. Thing is, if you type "ceramic tire coating" into Google, you will actually get a list of tire dressings with some Si02 in the formula. Same as calling a Si02 spray sealant a ceramic coating.

The only tire coating that comes to mind is Carpro Black-Out. Frankly, I've not really heard much in the way of positive feedback regarding Black-Out, I suspect it's not a strong seller for Carpro. It's supposed to last 6-months, but I highly doubt that.

Garage Therapy tyre serum would be a good try KA
I googled it and found it at that store I'll never support and FWIW it's sold out. How do you like it

I don’t think it’s actually been instock. Just getting ready to launch.

After pre-wash with an ounce of each:

-ADS Decon
-303 salt treatment
-Adam's limited edition carwash

This should really show the power of ADS Ghost Tire Coating, we're at about 5 weeks and a messy, cold January

Did NOT swipe the tire here in this Pic, air dryed on the way home, that's how it looked

It was good, a stackable tyre dressing Garage Therapy recommends not stripping it off just cleaning the tyre with their wheel shampoo.

A little glossy for me but I was trying it on a VW Amarok ute,
And got over 2 weeks out of 1 application.

With recent snows, I'm looking forward to the next cleaning of the TAOS' tires to see what Ghost has for me/us

...stay "tuned"
