ADS Ghost tire coating...real world durability and looks!

There aren't many ceramic coatings focused on tires. Thing is, if you type "ceramic tire coating" into Google, you will actually get a list of tire dressings with some Si02 in the formula. Same as calling a Si02 spray sealant a ceramic coating.

The only tire coating that comes to mind is Carpro Black-Out. Frankly, I've not really heard much in the way of positive feedback regarding Black-Out, I suspect it's not a strong seller for Carpro. It's supposed to last 6-months, but I highly doubt that.

Garbage product. I didn’t find it to perform any better than Darkside. I’d have to put it in the list of the top five worst products I’ve used since beginning my detailing journey.

Never even bought it, Darkside is nice but MUST be leveled and even then, LESS IS MORE

I bought it in my beginning days when I listened to a particular Utoober named after a frying utensil. I figured that since paint coatings are great tire coatings must be equally as good and wrong I was.

Sucks when that happens, especially on higher priced products like Blackout.

So after snow/salt/muck...plus a polar vortex which began this past Monday, today the TAOS got driven through my touch-free wash. The difference today was I did pre-treat the tires with a mix of that Wal-Mart tire and wheel cleaner mixed w/ Bilt-Hamber Surfex @3:1 on the tires. It was on there for about 20 minutes dwelling as the line was looooong

Sorry about the lighting as it's later in the day but I think you can see it hasn't "given up the Ghost" yet, pun intended

I'm not sure how this can't be the best tire coating on the market right now, it's going on 6 weeks right now in REAL WORLD conditions, daily driven, not "boosted" with anything and has gone a week+ w/o a wash and brutal weather conditions

I'm sure you already know this but give the tire a good cleaning before applying Ghost. I'm not talking that crazy Tuff Shine scrubbing here, just a good dwell scrub/rinse and possibly a 2nd round if you think it needs it. Finally let it dry and go for it! The product spreads easily, it's kinda watery and bluish/white in color when applied, don't worry, it goes away:

Have some Gyeon tire clean I planned to use. Might also bring out the tire brush. I generally haven’t dressed my tires because they didn’t last long enough.

Yeah the combo of your tire cleaner, which is a good one, I've used it in the past and short brissel brush to get the most out of that tire will do the trick

A top tip would be to apply 1 coat, wait 10-15 minutes and apply a 2nd coat. The 2nd coat does 2 things, endures total coverage and kicks up the sheen a tad. Now depending on the tires and your temp, you could add a 3rd coat, game time decision

Looking forward to hearing/seeing your results, post here if you'd like even! I'm very confident you'll love this product, a simple wash and dry is all you'll need to keep them looking great, I barely touched them except the other day to even it out

How do you maintain Ghost when you do a normal wash?
Your usual soap and water is enough. On my g/f's TAOS I'd just run it through the touch-free and we did one 2BM wash on her car, that's it. At anytime you want you can "boost it", I'm sure it will work with most dressings

In terms of preparation, I cleaned with a tire cleaner, then used mineral spirits or Tarminator to give the tires a final wipe down. You will be surprised how much extra rubbish you will remove.

This was on new tires with about 2000 km on them. I scrubbed with Wise Guy twice, then used mineral spirits because I needed to remove the production line markers as well.

For maintenance, I just lightly scrub with the same soap I use to clean the wheels. You can top with Tire+ (or similar) if you like.
